The actors from Coronation Street and Emmerdale have shared their initial reactions to the highly anticipated crossover episode between the two shows.
This episode brings the characters from Coronation Street and Emmerdale together for a special one-night event, focusing on the fallout from a serious car crash that happens on a dangerous, stormy road.
Most of the actors were seeing the finished scene for the first time, because the first stunt was filmed when they weren’t present.

I ran through all those flames! Have you seen it? I’m joking, but honestly, the stunts on Emmerdale are historically better than those on Coronation Street, in my opinion, after watching them for years.
It was great to collaborate and finally see how it’s done. The episode opened with a lot of car crashes, didn’t it? You immediately saw cars colliding right at the beginning.

I’m still processing everything, as it’s the first time I’ve seen the finished product. I only caught glimpses while we were filming on set. We weren’t present for any of the stunt work, though – it was all done by professional stunt drivers, and none of the actors were involved.
Carla Connor actress Alison King chirped: “I was.”
Jack immediately blamed her for the accident, saying, “It’s completely your fault. I saw you trying to stop the car, and that’s what caused the crash.”

For Charity Dingle icon Emma Atkins, she was simply lost for words.
She said she was so moved she could barely speak, feeling like she’d been a part of something truly amazing.
It’s truly astonishing. Charity has built up a huge web of lies, and this is just one piece of it. She’s frantically trying to hide it all while rushing to the airport. For me, even though it’s a small part of the bigger picture, I feel lucky to be involved.

Jack mentioned they have a lot to cover in a short timeframe – around 45 minutes. He praised the team for successfully including so many stories and dramatic moments, making it feel visually impressive and like a real movie.
Alison was just pleased that Carla hadn’t been killed off.
“I was just thinking, what is this? What on earth is this? There’s no words,” she laughed.
Of course, I was hoping Carla would survive. When we reached the end, I was relieved she wasn’t even seriously injured, though maybe a little bit hurt.
Corriedale airs on Monday 5th January 2025 at 8pm on ITV1 and ITVX, with no early release on ITVX.
