There’s No Question These 5 HBO TV Shows Had Flawless Series Finales

It’s surprisingly common for even great TV shows to stumble with their endings. Game of Thrones, despite being one of HBO’s biggest hits, is famous for its disappointing final season and series finale. Maintaining quality over multiple seasons is challenging, and delivering a satisfying conclusion for viewers is even harder. But HBO has occasionally nailed it, and here are five examples of their best final episodes.

It’s the End of an Era for Final Fantasy, but I’m Not Sure It’s a Good Thing

Every installment of the Final Fantasy series has introduced something different, though not all changes have been successful. Right now, the series is entering a new phase with the Final Fantasy 7 Remake games becoming available on Xbox and Nintendo Switch 2, after previously being exclusive to PlayStation. While Square Enix likely sees this as a step forward, I’m not sure it’s the best approach for the long-term success of Final Fantasy.

Though it shares similarities with action-horror games like Resident Evil, Crisol: Theater of Idols distinguishes itself with a unique and authentic take on Spanish folklore. Combined with smart gameplay improvements and striking monster designs, the game delivers a genuinely frightening and visually impressive experience. Despite a few small issues, Crisol: Theater of Idols offers a lot to enjoy.

What Emmerdale needs to do next with Robert Sugden after major turning point

Okay, so as a huge fan of this storyline, let me break it down. Robert’s sister, Victoria, found herself in a really tough spot. She was blackmailed by Joe Tate because she accidentally killed their other half-brother, John. To keep that secret hidden, she ended up having to give up her ownership of Butler’s Farm to him – it was a total power play and a really heartbreaking situation for her.

Reanimal’s First DLC Chapter is Terrifying Closer Than You Think, Drops This Summer

If you’re new to this exciting game, you’ll play as two siblings trying to escape a distorted and dangerous version of their home – a place that used to be safe but now feels like a nightmare. They’re also on a mission to save their friends. Reanimal takes everything players loved about the Little Nightmares games and expands on it, offering a more intense and challenging experience.

Assassin’s Creed Shadows, Mirage DLC Have Given Ubisoft a Much-Needed Boost This Past Quarter

According to the studio’s financial report for the third quarter of fiscal year 2025 (available here), the release of Shadows on the Switch 2 and the Valley of Memories story expansion have both increased the number of active players. Returning the series to feudal Japan with classic parkour and stealth gameplay, and featuring the unique styles of Naoe and Yasuke, Shadows has delivered a Japanese Assassin experience that fans have been eagerly awaiting.

DC Finally Brings Iron Man-Level Tech to Marvel’s Biggest Rivals

Take Lena Luthor, for example – she’s the daughter of Superman’s famous enemy, Lex Luthor. Since reappearing, she’s demonstrated impressive creativity and intelligence, becoming a key character on Supergirl. While Supergirl is capable of handling threats on her own, Lena’s inventions have consistently been a valuable asset. Now, with her newest creation, Lena is pushing boundaries, developing something that could potentially protect all Kryptonians from their biggest vulnerability.

44 Years Ago Today, an Iconic Fantasy Movie Broke All the Rules (And You Couldn’t Make It Today)

Today marks the 44th anniversary of the release of the French film Quest for Fire (February 12, 1982). While not a widely known title, this fantasy-adventure movie was groundbreaking for its time, challenging almost every filmmaking convention. Directed by Jean-Jacques Annaud and adapted from a 1911 novel by J.-H. Rosny, Quest for Fire is remarkable for having no spoken dialogue and is considered a uniquely innovative film that’s unlikely to be replicated.

Netflix Is About To Lose a Genuine Horror Masterpiece at the Worst Time Possible

Tobe Hooper’s The Texas Chainsaw Massacre is a truly iconic horror film – scary, well-made, and hugely influential. If you’re a fan of the genre, it’s essential viewing. However, it will be removed from Netflix on February 18th, which is unfortunate timing given the recent announcement that A24 is creating a new Texas Chainsaw Massacre TV series and movie. The original 1974 film, which started it all, was inspired by the crimes of Ed Gein and focuses on Leatherface, a terrifying, chainsaw-wielding killer who is part of a disturbed, cannibalistic family.
