Emma Corrin portrayed the formidable Cassandra Nova in Deadpool & Wolverine, the sister of Professor X and ruler of the Void, a character with the chilling ability to instantly harm others. Although Nova seemingly met her end when the heroes destroyed the Time Ripper to save Deadpool’s universe, Corrin has hinted at a possible return. In an interview with Variety, Corrin enthusiastically stated they’d “absolutely” reprise the role, believing Nova’s story isn’t finished. They even suggested a fun direction for future storylines: a sibling comedy with Professor X, similar to Step Brothers. Corrin playfully urged fans to make it happen!

The new horror film Backrooms topped the box office this weekend, earning an estimated $81.4 million domestically – a record for distributor A24. This version featured Alicia Vikander as Lara Croft, following her quest to uncover the truth behind her father’s disappearance. With limited options, she travels to his last known location: a legendary tomb on a mysterious island near Japan. While the film wasn’t a critical success, reviewers pointed to a weak storyline as the primary issue, not a less-action-oriented portrayal of Lara Croft.
