The Division Definitive Edition Banner Spotted Ahead of 10th Anniversary

Ubisoft is continuing to develop new content for The Division 2 and is also planning a sequel. While the original The Division hasn’t received much attention lately, a recent sighting at a Ubisoft esports event suggests a remastered version could be in the works. A Reddit user, MrEpicFerret, spotted a large banner hinting at these plans.

I was really surprised to see a listing for Tom Clancy’s The Division Definitive Edition – it’s something Ubisoft hasn’t talked about at all before! Everyone’s buzzing about what it could be. Some people think it might mean they’re planning to re-release the original The Division games for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S, while others are hoping it could be a sign that Ubisoft is bringing more of their games to the new Nintendo Switch 2. It’s exciting to think about either possibility!

Since The Division came out in March 2016, a new announcement feels more probable, as it would align with the game’s upcoming tenth anniversary.

The cover art for The Division Definitive Edition shows a Division agent standing prominently in front of the New York City skyline. The bottom half of the image features a distorted, darker reflection of the city, visually representing the devastation caused by the catastrophic event that begins the game’s story.

Julian Gerighty, the producer of the series, recently shared an update on the development of The Division 3, which was announced last year. He didn’t give away many specifics, but described the game as “shaping up to be a monster,” suggesting it’s going to be something special.

While continuing to update The Division 2, the developers are also bringing back the popular Survivors mode from the first The Division with a new standalone experience called The Division 2: Survivors. Announced in August, this project is described as a refreshed version of the survival extraction gameplay. Magnus Jansén, creative director for The Division, is leading the development, which was still in its early phases when first revealed.

In 2025, a large expansion called Battle for Brooklyn was released for The Division 2. Similar to the 2023 expansion Warlords of New York, this new content sent players back to New York City, specifically to Brooklyn. The story begins with a mission to rescue Dr. Jessica Kandel from the Cleaners, but quickly grows into a global threat.
