Sega and Ryu Ga Gotoku Studio announced that a demo for Yakuza Kiwami 3 and Dark Ties will be available on PC (through Steam) starting January 21st at 7 AM Pacific Time / 10 AM Eastern Time. Players on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, and Nintendo Switch will receive the demo a few hours later. The demo includes content from both the main game and the Dark Ties expansion.
The Yakuza Kiwami 3 demo lets you explore Ryukyu, Okinawa as Kazuma Kiryu. You’ll get a feel for the game’s fighting with two of Kiryu’s combat styles: the powerful Dragon of Dojima and the weapon-based Ryukyu style. Plus, you can try out side activities like karaoke, experience some early substories, and customize Kiryu’s outfit.
The Dark Ties demo lets players experience the beginning of a new story featuring Yoshitaka Mine. Set in Kamurocho, the demo showcases Mine’s unique shoot-boxing fighting style as he encounters enemies, and includes some optional side content. Both available demos are separate experiences, meaning progress cannot be transferred to the main game.
Ryu Ga Gotoku Studios recently announced that after the release of Yakuza Kiwami 3 and Dark Ties, Yakuza Remastered 3 will no longer be sold separately. They want players to enjoy the updated version of the classic Yakuza game, but those who prefer the original version can still purchase it as part of the Yakuza Complete Series bundle.
The development team announced they’re committed to their artistic vision for Yakuza Kiwami 3 & Dark Ties, and they’re excited for players to experience the fresh content. Players who already own Yakuza 3 Remastered won’t lose access to it. If you’re new to the series and want to play the original version, it will be included in the Yakuza Complete Series bundle.
The main story of Yakuza Kiwami 3 will remain largely the same, but the remake will include extra content. This includes an expanded storyline for the character Mine through the Dark Ties expansion, plus new side quests and activities. We’ve already learned about some of these additions, like new songs for karaoke and extra substories.
The game introduces a new way for Kiryu to make friends called LaLaLa Loveland. It works like a feature from Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth, letting Kiryu connect with other characters who have compatible phones using a special “Red Thread of Fate” technology. By connecting with people, Kiryu can find and open hidden “Loveboxes” scattered throughout the game world.
I’m so excited! They just announced that Yakuza Kiwami 3 and Dark Ties is finally coming to PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox Series X/S, and even the new Nintendo Switch 2 on February 12th. I can’t wait to play it on my preferred platform!
