Microsoft Targeting Halo PS5 Release in the Summer

Okay, so I just read this report from The Verge about what Xbox is planning, and apparently they’re thinking about bringing Halo: Combat Evolved to the PS5 this summer! It’s pretty wild to think I might be able to play it on PlayStation, honestly.

According to reports, Microsoft is aiming to release a game this summer, followed by Fable in the fall. Gears of War: E-Day is still expected to launch sometime in the latter half of 2026.

While it hasn’t been officially announced for PlayStation 5, many expect the new Gears of War prequel to be available on PS5 after the first game in the series, Gears of War: Reloaded, was released on PlayStation. Microsoft is reportedly trying to avoid releasing the game around the same time as Grand Theft Auto 6 in November 2026, so the exact release date is still undecided.

Double Fine’s Kiln is expected to release in April for PS5. Plus, Bethesda is planning to release new content for Starfield “soon,” with rumors suggesting a full version for PS5 will arrive with a large 2.0 update and a second expansion pack.

The report also mentions a possible remastered version of Fallout 3, stating that it’s currently being worked on.

The PS5 version of Halo: Combat Evolved will feature a revamped single-player campaign from the original game, but it won’t include the multiplayer mode. Players can expect updated gameplay, modern graphics, and a few all-new levels alongside the classic experience.
