Even though Resident Evil Requiem (also known as Resident Evil 9) isn’t released for PC, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X, and Nintendo Switch 2 for a few more weeks, news about its sequel, Resident Evil 10, has already surfaced. This information comes from a highly trusted source known for accurately reporting on Resident Evil games, including Requiem and previous titles. This suggests the report is very likely to be completely accurate.
A prominent Resident Evil insider, Dusk Golem, recently shared on X (formerly Twitter) that Capcom is targeting a release of Resident Evil 10 sooner than many expect. If the information is correct, the wait between Resident Evil Requiem and Resident Evil 10 will be just three years – significantly shorter than the five-year gap between Resident Evil Village and Resident Evil Requiem.
Resident Evil 10 Not That Far Away
According to an insider, the next Resident Evil game (currently believed to be Resident Evil 10, though the final title is unconfirmed) is expected to be somewhat shorter than previous installments. The game is currently planned for a 2029 release, but could be pushed back to 2030 or even 2031 depending on development progress. The insider also notes that downloadable content for Resident Evil Requeim has had sufficient time to be developed.
If Resident Evil 10 is released in 2029, it would likely coincide with the launch of the PlayStation 6 and the next Xbox. Microsoft documents from a few years ago suggested these consoles would arrive in 2028, but supply chain issues and other factors could push their release back into the 2030s.
Keep in mind that everything we’ve discussed is subject to change. This isn’t official information, and things often shift during game development – especially when it comes to release dates. It’s very common for big-budget games to experience delays during production.
