Crunchyroll’s Best Music Series Is Returning With a Special Epilogue

Crunchyroll, the world’s leading anime streaming service, features a wide variety of shows, including hidden gems. One standout is Given, an anime based on the popular Boys’ Love manga by Natsuki Kizu. The story was told through one season of animation and three follow-up movies. The complete manga, originally published in Cheri+ magazine, finished in 2023 and has now been fully adapted into anime form, available to stream on Crunchyroll. Just a year after the manga concluded, Kizu has released a seven-chapter epilogue series, catching up with characters Mafuyu Sato and Ritsuka Uenoyama a decade after their high school graduation.

I’m so excited! SuBLime, the biggest publisher of Boys’ Love manga here in North America, just announced that the English version of Given: 10th Mix, the epilogue, is coming out on November 10th, 2026! You can already pre-order it on their website for $12.99, and they’ve also got links to the earlier Given volumes if you need to catch up. And that’s not all – they’re bringing over two other fantastic series by Fumi Tsuyuhisa, Sunshine in Hades in Puling and Robin in the Veil of Night! I’m really happy they’re giving these lesser-known titles some love.

What Happens in Given: 10th Mix?

The story ends with Mafuyu and Ritsuka graduating high school and looking ahead to the future. They first met when Mafuyu, carrying a guitar with a broken string, caught Ritsuka’s attention. Though Mafuyu didn’t know how to play, Ritsuka fixed the guitar for him, and the sound deeply moved him. The story follows themes of heartbreak and recovery, as Mafuyu and other characters navigate difficult relationships while following their musical dreams.

After the death of his boyfriend, Yuki Yoshida, Mafuyu joins Ritsuka’s band, and the two eventually fall in love. The story concludes with Ritsuka completing a song Yuki wrote for Mafuyu, inspiring him to continue with music. Ritsuka also helps Mafuyu rediscover his own love for playing. The story’s epilogue, consisting of seven chapters, is set ten years after they finish high school.

I’ve been watching Mafuyu and Ritsuka navigate life after their band, Given, really hit its stride, alongside Akihiko and Haruki. It’s been interesting to see them succeed as musicians, and also to see Ritsuka supporting syh, the band of Hiragi and Shizusumi – a group still clearly affected by Yuki’s passing. Over the years, Mafuyu and Ritsuka have had their share of fights and impulsive decisions, but they always seem to find their way back to each other. It’s amazing how quickly ten years can go by, and it’s been really rewarding to witness how much they’ve both grown, not just as individuals, but also alongside the people they care about. The story really focuses on their lives and how everyone around them has evolved too.
