Starting March 1st, Tubi will add about 100 classic animated shows from Warner Bros. to its library. These cartoons originally aired on channels like Cartoon Network, but many predate even those early days. With so much content arriving next month, it’s easy to feel overwhelmed. So, we’re highlighting the seven animated series we’re most excited to rewatch this Spring.
7.) Courage The Cowardly Dog

I was honestly shocked when Courage the Cowardly Dog disappeared from HBO Max! It first came out on Cartoon Network way back in 1999, and it was such a unique show. It blended really funny moments with genuinely scary stuff, so poor Courage was always rescuing his owners, Mabel and Eustace, from some crazy situation. There really hasn’t been another Warner Bros. series quite like it. Luckily, Tubi is picking it up next month, which is awesome because a whole new audience will get to experience the weird and wonderful world of Courage in that desolate desert! With four seasons and over fifty episodes, it’s a show that’s definitely earned its place as a fan favorite, and I’m so glad it’s finding a new home.
6.) Dexter’s Laboratory

Many of Cartoon Network’s most popular original shows might not have existed without Dexter’s Laboratory paving the way. Though creator Genndy Tartakovsky now works on more adult-oriented projects like Primal on Adult Swim and Fixed on Netflix, he first gained recognition for his work on the adventures of Dexter and his mischievous sister Dee-Dee. Similar to Courage the Cowardly Dog, Dexter’s Laboratory originally aired for four seasons on Cartoon Network and later became available on HBO Max. Sadly, it was removed from HBO Max in 2023, making its return a great piece of news for fans.
5.) Freakazoid!

Though it originally aired on Kids WB, Freakazoid is still considered one of Warner Bros.’ best cartoons. Despite only lasting two seasons, the show’s hilarious stories about the internet superhero have stood the test of time, and it’s a real comedic gem coming to Tubi next month. Freakazoid did reappear in an episode of Teen Titans Go!, but a full reboot never happened. Hopefully, with renewed interest in the show—which first premiered in 1995—Dexter Douglas might finally get another chance.
4.) Justice League

When people talk about great superhero cartoons, the Justice League series from the DC Animated Universe is often considered the best. It originally brought together iconic heroes like Superman, Batman, Wonder Woman, the Flash, Green Lantern, Hawkgirl, and Martian Manhunter, building on the popularity of earlier animated adventures. The show later expanded into Justice League Unlimited, introducing even more heroes from the DC universe. While you can already watch it on Netflix, making it available on Tubi – a free streaming service – will help even more people discover these seven legendary crime fighters.
3.) Ed, Edd ‘n Eddy

Many shows have explored suburban life, but Cartoon Network’s Ed, Edd ‘n Eddy was truly unique. The series followed the hilarious misadventures of Ed, Edd, and Eddy as they constantly devised plans to earn enough money for jawbreakers. Sadly, like many other cartoons, it was removed from HBO Max. Originally airing in 1999, the show ran for six seasons and a total of sixty-nine episodes. Although the creator was once approached about making a more mature sequel for Adult Swim, he turned down the offer, making its arrival on Tubi likely the only chance to revisit these three characters.
2.) Animaniacs

Like Freakazoid, The Animaniacs actually began on Kids WB, not Cartoon Network. While a recent revival on Hulu only lasted three seasons, the original series was a huge success in the 1990s, running for five seasons and producing nearly one hundred episodes. It quickly became a classic Warner Bros. cartoon and helped launch characters like Pinky and the Brain. Now, bringing Animaniacs to Tubi is a significant win for the streaming service.
1.) The Powerpuff Girls

Among all the popular animated series on Cartoon Network, The Powerpuff Girls stands out as one of the most iconic. The show, featuring Bubbles, Blossom, and Buttercup, was once so beloved that many considered them the channel’s unofficial representatives, which made its removal from HBO Max particularly upsetting to fans. Though the recent reboot isn’t returning, the original series now streaming on Tubi could help the superhero sisters become a central attraction for the platform, much like Looney Tunes.
