Netflix has become a major hub for anime, offering a lot of shows you can’t find anywhere else. Recently, they’ve invested heavily in exclusive anime licenses and original series, creating a strong collection that’s a big improvement over their earlier anime selections. There are five shows in particular that fans might have missed, but which could have struggled to find an audience on other platforms.
Netflix offers a vast collection of anime, and it’s easy to miss some great shows. Luckily, many of these lesser-known anime are planning to release new episodes soon. Here’s a look at some anime you can currently stream exclusively on Netflix.

5). Dorohedoro
The anime adaptation of Dorohedoro arrived on Netflix right when the COVID-19 pandemic began in 2020, which likely contributed to it not getting as much attention as it deserves. It’s also a very unique show – its unusual art style and bizarre story about curses and powers set in a gritty world aren’t for everyone. Dorohedoro stood out from other anime when it first came out, and it’s definitely worth watching. Especially now, with a second season on the way later this year – you won’t want to miss the exciting continuation of the story!

4). Beastars
The anime series Beastars first appeared on Netflix in 2019, and was one of the platform’s early major anime acquisitions. It was groundbreaking for its use of CG animation and helped establish Netflix as a home for anime franchises. New episodes have been released periodically, with a final set arriving later this year. Despite its success and innovation, Beastars hasn’t quite reached the widespread popularity it deserves. If you haven’t seen it, it’s definitely worth checking out!

3). Cyberpunk: Edgerunners
I’ve been really impressed with how Netflix has embraced anime, especially when adapting video games. The standout success for me has definitely been Cyberpunk: Edgerunners. Instead of directly adapting the game Cyberpunk 2077, it uses that world as a setting to tell its own, original story about a group of characters struggling against a grim destiny. It’s visually amazing, and honestly, it’s a really emotional ride. I’m excited to hear they’re making a second season, and I think anyone planning to watch it should definitely check out Edgerunners first – it’ll give you the proper context. If I’m being honest, it’s probably the most exciting show Netflix has to offer right now.

2). Delicious in Dungeon
Delicious in Dungeon is easily one of the best anime series Netflix has added recently. Based on Ryoko Kui’s manga, the show follows a group of adventurers battling their way through a dungeon – and cooking the monsters they encounter! It’s a really enjoyable adventure, offering a unique look inside the dungeon itself, and the characters are all incredibly engaging.
The show doesn’t shy away from dramatic and emotional moments, especially as the season progresses. With another season already planned, now’s a great time to catch up if you haven’t already.

1). Orb: On the Movements of the Earth
While Uoto gained recognition in 2025 with the popular film adaptation of 100 Meters, their series Orb: On the Movements of the Earth is equally deserving of praise. Set in 15th-century Europe, where the Catholic Church dominated scientific inquiry, the story spans generations of scientists dedicated to discovering the truth about the cosmos.
This anime tells the story of people who risked everything – even their lives – to prove the Earth was round and orbited the sun, facing opposition from the Church. It’s a powerful exploration of humanity’s relentless drive for knowledge, unfolding in compelling stages. If you’re looking for top-tier anime on Netflix, this is a must-watch.
