Apple TV is taking a big creative gamble with the next season of Ted Lasso. The show will now focus on a women’s soccer team, which dramatically changes the core group of characters we’ve come to know. While Jason Sudeikis and Brendan Hunt will be back as Ted and Coach Beard, the show needs to introduce a whole new team of players to drive the story. This likely means popular characters like Roy Kent and Jamie Tartt will have smaller roles, appearing as supporting characters or only in a few episodes.

The fourth season of Ted Lasso needs to recapture its magic and win over audiences again, but with a completely new team dynamic.
