Stacey Solomon’s popular show, Sort Your Life Out, is back for a sixth season on BBC One next month. The new season begins with a particularly moving episode.
The latest season of the show starts on Tuesday, March 10th at 8pm on BBC One and iPlayer. This time, Stacey and her team are helping a family completely reorganize their home, giving them a fresh start with a makeover and deep clean – all in just one week!
The first of six episodes features Stacey and her team renovating the home of Gerry and Trish, a retired technician and a care worker, who live with two of their adult children.
As a total sucker for feel-good stories, I was immediately drawn to this concept. It’s about a woman, Stacey, who basically gives her friends a tough-love intervention. Their house is overflowing with 30 years of stuff – memories and projects they never finished – and she challenges them to declutter, to get rid of at least half of it all in just one week. The idea isn’t just about tidying up, though; it’s about letting go of the past to make room for happiness again. It’s a really powerful premise, and I think a lot of us can relate to holding onto things we should probably let go of!

According to the BBC, Stacey and her team help a family start decluttering their home by packing up all their belongings. This process reveals the house’s possibilities, and they also learn that the 62-year-old father, Gerry, has been diagnosed with early-onset dementia.
The increasing clutter is making it hard for Gerry to navigate the house, as it impacts his memory and ability to see things clearly. Trish, who now handles home repairs since Gerry’s physical skills have weakened, hopes they can declutter while they still can. She wants to keep items that bring back good memories for Gerry, but get rid of everything they no longer use.
The team is working hard to finish renovating the Kings’ house before they get back home. Will their decluttering and upcycling efforts finally create the organized and dream home the family has always wanted?
