Fullmetal Alchemist Announces Anime Crossover Event

Even though the story of the Elric brothers finished a while back, Fullmetal Alchemist is still beloved by fans. Creator Hiromu Arakawa didn’t stop working after the success of Edward and Alphonse; she’s actually returning to the anime world later this year with her new manga series, Daemons of the Shadow Realm, which Studio BONES is turning into an anime. And to honor both her classic and new work, a special anime crossover event is planned for this spring.

Japanese fans will be able to see Fullmetal Alchemist movies in theaters starting March 6th. Fullmetal Alchemist The Movie: Conqueror of Shamballa will play for one week in Tokyo, Hokkaido, Aichi, Osaka, and Fukuoka, until March 12th. Then, Fullmetal Alchemist: The Sacred Star of Milos will be shown until March 19th. On March 22nd, there will be a special one-night event featuring the first episodes of Daemons of the Shadow Realm, along with cast members Kensho Ono, Yume Miyamoto, Yuichi Nakamura, Misaki Kuno, and Junichi Suwabe. This new series, a continuation of the Fullmetal Alchemist story, will premiere on television on April 4th, giving Japanese anime fans an early look.

Exciting news for fans of Fullmetal Alchemist! A special screening event featuring Fullmetal Alchemist and an advance screening of “Yomitsuga” (Pair of Souls) will offer exclusive gifts to attendees. Three unique mini illustrated cards, created by the animators, will be given out! Find more details with the hashtag #Yomitsuga.

Fullmetal Daemons

Although Hiromu Arakawa’s stories haven’t officially crossed over before, the new anime adaptation will be created by the same studio that animated the popular series Fullmetal Alchemist. Studio BONES, recently known for My Hero Academia and My Hero Academia: Vigilantes, is once again bringing Arakawa’s work to life. While this story is quite different from the alchemy-filled world that made Arakawa famous, BONES is clearly skilled at capturing her unique art style in animation.

If you haven’t read the original Daemons of the Shadow Realm manga, the upcoming anime adaptation has a lot to offer. This latest series from Hiromu Arakawa is set in a supernatural world where twins, Yuru and Asa, are trying to unlock a hidden power that would let someone control dangerous creatures. The manga started in 2021 and is still being updated with new chapters, which suggests the anime could have multiple seasons. Currently, Arakawa hasn’t indicated the manga will end soon, meaning Daemons of the Shadow Realm has the potential to become as popular as her other works.
