Harrison Ford chose wisely when it came to his romance with Calista Flockhart.
Okay, so I’ve been following Harrison Ford and Calista Flockhart forever, and I read the cutest thing about how they make their marriage work! Apparently, Harrison has this rule – and it’s brilliant! He never offers Calista unsolicited advice. Like, he just doesn’t do it. Can you believe it? Fifteen years together and he knows that sometimes, she just needs to figure things out herself. It’s so sweet and respectful, and honestly, it’s probably a huge part of why they’re still so happy! I’m totally adopting that rule in my own life, even though I’m not married to Indiana Jones… a girl can dream!
During an interview with Justin Sylvester on Live From TopMob: Actor Awards 2026 at the Shrine Auditorium on March 1st, Harrison stated, “I don’t tell my wife what to do.”
Although Harrison Ford, at 83, has some influence on casting for his show, Shrinking, he would never ask his co-parent, Calista Flockhart – with whom he shares 25-year-old son Liam – to join the cast. He says it would be her decision.
Harrison, looking sharp in black alongside Calista, is currently enjoying a career moment of his own. He’s being honored with a Lifetime Achievement Award at the ceremony hosted by Kristen Bell. (Check out all the red carpet looks here!)
Harrison shared with TopMob that he feels incredibly fortunate and thankful for the recognition he’s received.
“But gosh, I’m only halfway through my career,” he joked. “It’s a little early for this.”
Throughout his long and successful career, Harrison Ford has played many famous characters, including Indiana Jones, Han Solo in Star Wars, and Dr. Richard Kimble in The Fugitive. However, he doesn’t have a single favorite role among them.
He expressed deep gratitude for the chance to portray a wide variety of characters throughout his career. He felt like he’d experienced many different lives – not quite a thousand, but certainly more than a hundred.
Harrison quipped, “I’m not that old.”
Even in his eighties, Harrison is happy and content with his current life, particularly his marriage to Calista.
I was really touched by something I heard on the Wild Card With Rachel Martin podcast recently. The guest said, ‘Old people can love, too!’ It made me think – we often assume falling in love is just for young people, but that’s clearly not true. It was a beautiful reminder that love doesn’t have an age limit.
“Staying in love is the issue,” he explained. “Maintaining, nurturing, basically, not f–king up.”
