Building on the success of last year’s iPhone 16e (which I bought during the Black Friday sales!), the 17e offers a more affordable option for iPhone fans.

This phone boasts a quick, clear, and high-quality screen, along with a powerful 48MP camera and long-lasting battery. It’s built with durable aluminum, and now comes in a fresh Soft Pink color. The main trade-off is that it doesn’t include some of Apple’s more advanced features, such as a 0.5x zoom or an Always-On Display.

What is the iPhone 17e UK release date?

The iPhone 17e is available for pre-order from 2:15pm (GMT) on Wednesday 4 March.

Shipping will then begin from 11 March.

How much does the iPhone 17e cost?

The iPhone 17e costs £599 for the 256GB version and £799 for the 512GB model. This is the same price as the previous iPhone 16e, but £400 less than the regular iPhone 17.

For the first time you can also buy this in instalments starting from £24.95.

iPhone 17e design: What does the new phone look like?

I’m really excited about the new 17e! It looks a lot like the 16e – it’s got that same great 6.1-inch screen, with a sleek aluminum frame and a stunning Super Retina XDR display. Plus, they’re saying it’s way more durable this time around, with three times the scratch resistance, which is awesome!

The iPhone 17e will come in three colors: White, Black, and a brand new Soft Pink. This pink option is likely due to popular demand for a pink iPhone 17 Pro Max.

The iPhone 17e is an upgrade from the previous model, offering a faster A19 chip, a battery that lasts up to 26 hours, and increased storage capacity.

Most of the features remain consistent, including a single 48MP camera offering either 1x or 2x optical zoom, the ability to play 4K videos, and access to Apple Intelligence tools for things like photo editing.

This updated model is mostly a refinement of the 16e, with the main improvement being its new color option.

As a film buff, I’m all about detail, and the differences between the iPhone 17e and the regular iPhone 17 are pretty noticeable. The 17 has a dual 48MP camera system – two lenses! – while the 17e only has one. Both take amazing, high-resolution photos and those beautiful ‘Next-Generation Portraits’ Apple’s known for, but the 17 also lets you do that really cool 0.5x zoom that the 17e just doesn’t offer. It’s those little things that can really elevate your content, you know?

The 17 is a bit quicker and lasts up to 30 hours on a single charge. It also includes updated features like an Always-On display and ProMotion technology for smoother visuals.

The iPhone 17 boasts significantly improved photography and video capabilities, offering the high-end features we anticipate from Apple. Meanwhile, the 17e is a reliable and functional phone for everyday use.
