Selena Gomez unknowingly manifested her own vision of ecstasy.

Selena Gomez, founder of Rare Beauty, revealed that Rihanna’s famous 2012 song “Diamonds”—which her husband, Benny Blanco, helped create—was the inspiration behind her AirDrop code.

Selena revealed on her husband’s podcast, Friends Keep Secrets, that she used to AirDrop messages with the name ‘Shine Bright.’ She jokingly said she’ll change it soon, but admitted the reason behind the name was simply because of the lyric ‘Shine bright like a diamond,’ which appears in many songs.

Rema, known for his song “Calm Down,” shared that he used the name ‘Rema’ long before he and Benny, 37, became a couple. This was years before they first worked together on her 2015 songs “Same Old Love” and “Kill ‘Em With Kindness.” They collaborated again in 2019 on “I Can’t Get Enough,” four years before publicly confirming their relationship on Instagram.

Selena loves the song “Diamonds,” which she shares a special connection to with her husband, whom she married last September. However, she also really enjoys many other songs by Rihanna that he wasn’t involved with.

She mentioned on the podcast – which Benny co-hosts with Lil Dicky and Kristin Batalucco – that she really loves Kanye West’s song “Consideration.” She added that, for some reason, she feels like he can do no wrong.

Selena Gomez isn’t just known for her song “Diamonds.” She also revealed that she was the inspiration behind “Dorothea,” a song on Taylor Swift’s album Evermore.

Okay, so ‘Dorothea’… it totally gets me, you guys. Selena said it herself – it’s her story, but honestly, it feels like it’s mine too! It’s about this girl who leaves her small town for Hollywood, chasing her dreams, and Selena said it captures all those huge, life-changing moments – first loves, family stuff, everything! She was so young then, only fifteen when she wrote it about an eighteen-year-old, and it’s like, we were all figuring things out at that age, right? It just… resonates, you know?

She explained that they were confused about the situation, but their relationship hadn’t changed. She added that she was really impressed with how well it was expressed when she heard it.

But that wasn’t the only time their friendship filled in a blank space for Taylor.  

You won’t believe this, but Taylor actually wrote a song about our friendship, it’s called ‘Family’! It was years ago, probably over a decade now. The lyrics are so subtle, she doesn’t directly quote anything, but it’s basically about having big dreams – wanting to be noticed, wanting to be part of everything. And then, it talks about me believing in her dreams, even when they seemed crazy, like her wanting to play stadiums. It’s just… really special to me.

Elisabeth recently shared with The Ankler newsletter that a lie she told at age 34 was the biggest regret of her life. She explained that the lie grew over time and became deeply hidden. She also clarified that she has never been diagnosed with cancer.

Finch, who was temporarily removed from his role on the ABC medical show before ultimately quitting, admitted, “I messed up badly. It was completely unacceptable, and I take full responsibility.”
