Crimson Desert Supports PS5 Pro’s Upgraded PSSR, High CPU Frequency Mode for “Seamless” Performance

There’s a lot of excitement surrounding Crimson Desert, but some players have expressed concern about the limited information on how it will play on consoles. Pearl Abyss’s Will Powers promised more details soon, and recent previews have finally revealed new information about the game’s features on the PS5 Pro.

I was reading the PlayStation Blog, and they’re talking about how amazing the PS5 and PS5 Pro are looking! Apparently, they’re really pushing the CPU to make getting around the game world super smooth. But honestly, what really struck me was just how beautiful everything is, and how far you can see! They said the super-fast SSD is key to keeping all that detail streaming without any hiccups. And Pearl Abyss is using some clever tech – Geometry Shader Oversubscription and NGG Culling – to pack in tons of details without making things look blurry or losing quality. It’s really impressive!

Okay, so the graphics just keep getting better! Crimson Desert is using the new PlayStation Spectral Super Resolution tech, which basically means I can expect it to run at 4K with a really smooth frame rate. And get this – ray tracing is confirmed too, so the lighting is going to look seriously realistic and natural. It’s gonna be beautiful!

It’s expected that the game will work with the DualSense controller, and it’s great to hear it will use the controller’s features to enhance gameplay. Specifically, you’ll feel vibrations when blocking attacks or landing powerful blows, and the adaptive triggers will simulate the tension of drawing a bowstring – similar to games like Horizon Forbidden West.

These early looks at the game are based on its current settings, and Pearl Abyss hasn’t shared details about different graphics options or how smoothly the game will run on each. We’ll have more information soon – the game launches on March 19th – so check back for updates.
