After years of speculation and hints – even confirmed by industry ratings – Ubisoft has finally announced a remake of Assassin’s Creed 4: Black Flag. As many predicted, it’s titled Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resynced, and new artwork has been revealed showing the main character, Edward Kenway, aboard a ship.
Jean Guesdon, who leads content creation at Ubisoft’s Vantage Studios, explained that their priority is to give each game the development time it needs and release it only when it’s fully polished. However, he hinted at an exception for their game, Resynced, playfully referencing the Assassin’s Creed series by saying, “Some rumors turn out to be true – keep an eye out for more news soon.”
That’s all the information for now. We still don’t know when it will be released, or if the rumors about an April reveal are true. To be honest, this surprise announcement is a pretty effective way to get fans excited and wanting more.
Rumors have been going around for a while about changes to the game. It seems like the modern-day sections featuring Abstergo have been removed, but new quests and activities have been added. Loading screens are also reportedly gone, and fans are excited about the possibility of previously cut content being restored. The game is also expected to borrow weather effects from Assassin’s Creed Shadows and offer improvements to the game map.
The upcoming game, Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resynced, was originally planned for a March release, but Ubisoft recently postponed its development following company restructuring. While we still need official confirmation, it’s encouraging to see the project moving forward.
