Monster Hunter Now Releases Season 9: Skybound Scalestorm on March 19

Capcom and Niantic have revealed that a new season, Skybound Scalestorm, is coming to Monster Hunter Now on March 19th. The update will include a new weapon type, several new monsters to hunt, and fresh skills for players to use.

I’m so excited for Season 9 of Monster Hunter Now! They’re adding the Insect Glaive, which is easily one of my favorite weapons from the main games. It lets you control a little bug called a Kinsect while you fight, and it’s amazing for jumping around and attacking from the air. Plus, we’re getting three new monsters: Seregios, Viper Tobi-Kadachi, and Almudron. And get this – on March 19th, we’ll finally be able to hunt Riftborne Zynogre! You’ll also be able to add new skills when you fight Seregios, Viper Tobi-Kadachi, and Almudron, which is awesome.

  • Skill: Attack Efficacy
    • Effect: Attack power increases.
  • Skill: Critical Strength
    • Effect: Attack power increases per 1% of your weapon’s affinity.
  • Skill: Advanced Water Attack
    • Effect: Increases weapon’s water-element value when Water Attack Lv5+ is active.
  • Skill: Advanced Burst
    • Effect: Increases attack power when Burst Lv5+ is active.
  • Skill: Combo Master
    • Effect: Increases damage dealt after performing an action multiple times.

Niantic has also introduced a new feature called Friend Link, allowing players to collaborate with friends on Elder Dragon Interceptions and Paintball List hunts, even when they’re far apart. According to Niantic’s website, this feature…

Whenever the moment strikes, you can invite friends to a group hunt.

You’ll now get notifications when your online friends are looking for groups, making it simpler to team up and use Friend Link. Adding more friends increases your chances of quickly finding a full party, so connect with people now!

Connect with friends anytime, anywhere. A new Monster Hunter Now experience begins!

    • Friend Link requires a Friend Link item, which will be distributed through supply items and other methods.
