My Hero Academia is packed with exciting action, and its best fight scenes are a big reason why fans love it. The series features both individual battles and large-scale conflicts, all brought to life with amazing animation and well-planned choreography. These fights aren’t just visually impressive—they also move the story forward and help develop the characters in meaningful ways, making them truly satisfying to watch.
It’s tough to pick the very best fight from each of the eight seasons of My Hero Academia because they’re all so action-packed. However, each season usually has one fight that really shines. Trying to compare those standout fights across all the seasons is a challenge, but it’s no surprise that the most impressive ones happen during the show’s biggest battles at the end.
8) Shigaraki vs. Re-Destro (Season 5)

Season 5 of My Hero Academia has some important scenes, but the battle between Shigaraki and Re-Destro stands out above the rest. This fight, which largely focuses on the heroes and villains separately, dramatically increases the tension leading into Season 6. The most memorable part is seeing Shigaraki’s power grow – a frightening change that makes him an even more dangerous enemy.
While some of the animation is good, the fight scenes aren’t as visually impressive as other battles in My Hero Academia. The villain, Re-Destro, isn’t particularly compelling, and it’s obvious from the start that Shigaraki will win. Even viewers who haven’t read the manga can predict the outcome, which makes the fight feel less exciting. It never really seems like Shigaraki is in danger of losing, further reducing the tension.
7) All Might vs. Nomu (Season 1)

Season 1 of My Hero Academia is brief, so there aren’t many standout fight scenes, though the battle between Eraserhead and Shigaraki is a close second. However, the best fight in the first season is definitely All Might versus Nomu. This showdown is amazing because of the incredible animation, the intense stakes, and the powerful emotions involved. If someone wasn’t already invested in the anime, this fight would absolutely win them over. Seeing All Might use a flurry of rapid punches to overcome Nomu’s ability to absorb attacks is captivating, and the animation is truly impressive.
Beyond the impressive animation, this battle highlights what makes All Might a symbol of peace and shows the qualities aspiring heroes like Deku need to embody. While there are times when it looks like All Might might actually lose – or that his weakening strength will be exposed – he ultimately prevails, making it a truly exciting fight. It doesn’t quite reach the level of later, more impactful battles in the anime, though, simply because it happens relatively early in the series and doesn’t have the same emotional weight.
6) Deku vs. Class A (Season 6)

Season 6 of My Hero Academia really delivered on the action, especially with the Paranormal Liberation War arc giving us incredible fights like Hawks versus Twice and Deku versus Shigaraki. But, surprisingly, I think the best fight of the season actually came from the Dark Hero arc: Deku battling Class 1-A. The animation in that fight was just as stunning as anything else we saw, and it was incredibly moving. What really stood out to me was how much Deku has grown. He used to struggle against even the weakest students, but now he’s strong enough to go toe-to-toe with his entire class and almost win. It really showcased his progress.
It’s easier to get caught up in this fight because we’re invested in Deku and his friends – we really want them to win. While it might not be as grand or important as some of the anime’s biggest battles, like those against Re-Destro or Nomu, and another single fight packs more of an emotional punch, this sequence is still a great action scene and earns its place among the best.
5) Deku vs. Shoto (Season 2)

The fight between Deku and Class 1-A is emotionally strong, but the battle between Shoto and Deku in My Hero Academia Season 2 resonates even more deeply. It’s one of the first truly personal and emotionally driven fights in the series, and it’s memorable for a reason. Seeing Deku try to reach Todoroki while fighting him perfectly embodies the heart of the show and makes you care about both characters. It’s a fight where the outcome feels less important than the connection between the two heroes.
This fight scene is a highlight of My Hero Academia Season 2, surpassing previous battles. While fights with Stain and the one between Bakugo and Ochaco are also excellent, this one best captures the anime’s core message. The animation is particularly impressive for the show’s earlier seasons. Though later seasons feature even better animation, this scene remains a standout moment.
4) Endeavor vs. Hood (Season 4)

While the fight between Deku and Overhaul is often considered the best of My Hero Academia Season 4, the final battle between Endeavor and Hood (the High-End Nomu) ultimately takes the prize. This fight features some of the most impressive animation in the entire series and sets a new standard for quality. It also significantly raises the stakes as the villains become a greater threat. More importantly, it marks a turning point for Endeavor, solidifying his position as the No. 1 hero and beginning to show his path toward redemption.
Seeing Endeavor and Hawks fight together is really exciting, and Shoto watching adds a lot of emotional impact to the intense battle. It’s a fantastic way to finish Season 4, especially because it reminds viewers of All Might’s final fight. However, because many fans aren’t as connected to Endeavor and Hood as they were to All Might and All for One, this battle doesn’t feel quite as powerful. Despite the excellent animation, it doesn’t quite reach the same level as the most memorable moments from the Final War arc.
3) All Might vs. All for One (Season 3)

Watching Season 3 of My Hero Academia brought back some truly incredible moments, especially the action. From Deku’s initial battle with Muscular to his intense rematch with Bakugo, the fight choreography was top-notch. But the standout sequence, and arguably the most iconic episode of the series, was All Might’s desperate stand against All for One – “One for All.” That fight felt like the turning point of the season, and the moment All Might officially passed the torch to Deku. Even though some later fights might be a bit more visually impressive, it’s still the battle most fans remember and talk about.
This fight is visually stunning, but what truly makes it exceptional is the emotional weight and how it impacts the story. Watching All Might use the last of his strength and make one final stand is incredibly moving, even for seasoned viewers. It’s a powerful and rewarding scene that significantly motivates Deku and Bakugo. Only a few other fights are as impactful, and those occur in the later seasons of the show, which feature consistently high-quality animation and storytelling.
2) Bakugo vs. All for One (Season 8)

Wow, Season 8 of My Hero Academia is just stunning! The animation is consistently beautiful, and the season kicks off with some incredible action that really feels like a powerful ending to the series. Honestly, the fight between Bakugo and All For One is the absolute highlight – it’s a technical masterpiece, but it’s also so emotionally satisfying. After everything Bakugo’s been through, seeing him take down one of the main villains feels right. And the fact that he ends up saving All Might? That was perfect – it brought his whole character arc full circle, letting him finally prove himself and live up to everything he believes in. It’s a truly amazing moment!
Although this battle is a highlight of the Final War story arc, another fight featuring Deku is even better. The animation quality is comparable, but because we’ve followed Deku’s journey for seven seasons, this other fight feels more rewarding.
1) Gearshift Deku vs. Shigaraki (Season 7)

Season 7 of My Hero Academia is packed with amazing fight scenes, but the battle between Gearshift Deku and Shigaraki is the best. Although they clash multiple times in the series, this fight is particularly intense. Deku pushes his powers further than ever before, and his anger makes every move feel incredibly powerful. The animation is just as relentless, creating a truly stunning visual experience.
Deku’s last battle with Shigaraki doesn’t have a clear winner, and ultimately requires Deku to find a different path to victory. However, the fight itself is a culmination of everything Deku has learned and trained for, making it both exciting and rewarding. That powerful 120% Smash is sure to be a memorable moment for fans.
