The psychological horror game BrokenLore: FOLLOW is coming to PlayStation 5, Xbox Series, and PC (via Steam) on June 1st, according to developer Serafini Productions.
Here is an overview of the game, via Serafini Productions:
BrokenLore: FOLLOW is a chilling, first-person horror game where you play as Anne, a woman struggling with a difficult past. She wakes up in her old home and starts seeing strange, dreamlike visions connected to her memories.
Anne embarks on a journey of self-discovery, prompted by her unusually lifelike childhood doll. She must grapple with feelings of self-doubt, learn to value herself, and work through a difficult relationship with her mother.
In seven chapters, Anne returns to important places from her past, remembering experiences and confronting past hurts and errors. All the while, she’s haunted by a frightening figure that strongly resembles her mother.
BrokenLore: FOLLOW was created with input from psychologist Emanuela Papa to make sure the game accurately and respectfully portrays its sensitive topics.
Serafini Productions explained that the title BrokenLore: FOLLOW was intentionally created as a variation of Broken Lore: UNFOLLOW, almost like an unfinished version. Removing part of the original title was meant to represent the idea of loss and something missing, mirroring the central theme of Anne’s new story arc. The creators wanted to convey that both the nightmare world and Anne herself feel changed and incomplete, as if a crucial piece of them is gone.
The name “FOLLOW” also contributes to a clever word puzzle linking three important titles in the series: “UNFOLLOW,” “FOLLOW,” and “Broken Lore: LOW.” These titles, when considered together, create a connection in both language and theme, reflecting how the story unfolds throughout its different parts. Therefore, the title isn’t simply a name; it’s a purposeful hint related to Anne’s character, the broken pieces of her past, and the overall design of the BrokenLore world.
