A Nickelodeon Movie Based on One of the Most Iconic Nicktoons Is Now Streaming on Paramount+

If you love Nickelodeon, Paramount+ is where you’ll find almost everything! It’s the main streaming home for shows like The Wild Thornberrys, SpongeBob SquarePants, Max & the Midknights, and now includes a brand new movie based on a beloved classic Nicktoon!

If you grew up in the 1990s, you likely remember watching Hey Arnold! on TV. The popular Nickelodeon cartoon, which aired for five seasons and 100 episodes, followed the everyday adventures of a fourth-grader with a unique football-shaped head. It’s still considered one of the best Nicktoons and a defining show for ‘90s kids. After its run from 1996 to 2004, the show was adapted into a movie, Hey Arnold!: The Movie, which was released in 2002. Now, more than 20 years later, fans can stream it again! Hey Arnold!: The Movie began streaming on Paramount+ on April 1st, alongside the original series and 2017’s Hey Arnold!: The Jungle Movie.

Hey Arnold!: The Movie Is a Great Expansion of the Nickelodeon Classic

If you’re a fan of the original Hey Arnold! series, you’ll want to check out Hey Arnold!: The Movie, now available on Paramount+. It feels like an extra-long episode and follows Arnold and his best friend Gerald as they try to save their neighborhood. A greedy businessman, Mr. Scheck, plans to tear everything down to build a mall, so the two friends set out to find a lost document that would protect the neighborhood as a historical site.

While Hey Arnold!: The Movie isn’t critically acclaimed – it has low scores on Rotten Tomatoes – it’s still a really enjoyable and nostalgic experience for fans of the original show. The movie successfully captures the spirit of the TV series, with familiar writing, music, and a similar heartwarming, underdog story. It features touching moments between characters, plenty of humor – especially thanks to Grandma Gertie – and builds to an exciting and satisfying finale.

What’s New on Paramount+?

April brings a lot of new content to Paramount+, with something for everyone. Kids can enjoy new shows like Mosley, Peanuts: Bon Voyage Charlie Brown (And Don’t Come Back), and PAW Patrol Valiente: A Tracker Story. Adults have plenty to choose from too, including movies like Catch Me If You Can, Galaxy Quest, He’s Just Not That into You, the Paranormal Activity series, and Saving Private Ryan.
