Matt LeBlanc will return to CBS with a new detective series, about ten years after his comedy show first aired on the network.
Matt LeBlanc became well-known for playing Joey Tribbiani on the popular TV show Friends (1994–2004), and he was nominated for an Emmy Award three times for the role. He later returned as Joey in the spin-off series Joey (2004–2006). He continued his television career playing a version of himself in the show Episodes (2011–2017), earning four additional Emmy nominations. Most recently, he starred as Adam Burns, the father in the CBS sitcom Man with a Plan, which ran for four seasons from 2016 to 2020.
CBS has revealed that Matt LeBlanc will star in a new drama series, currently called Flint. The show centers around a Los Angeles police detective nearing retirement who unexpectedly gets a five-year extension on his service. Frustrated, he tries to get himself fired by ignoring the rules, but ironically, his rebellious behavior actually makes him a more effective officer.
CBS is developing a new series called Flint with Evan Katz (showrunner of 24) leading the writing team. Matt LeBlanc is set to star in and help produce the show if it’s picked up for a full season. The project is a collaboration between CBS Studios and Jerry Bruckheimer Television.
