Beef season 2 cast: Full list of new actors in Netflix’s wild revenge series

The popular Netflix series Beef is returning for a second season, introducing a fresh group of characters and a brand new story of revenge that’s sure to be full of conflict.

Josh and Lindsay seem to have an ideal marriage, presenting a flawless image to the people at their country club. However, beneath the surface, they harbor hidden resentments that threaten to destroy their relationship.

Okay, so I just heard about this movie, and it sounds wild! Apparently, a couple, who are clearly having problems, get caught on camera having a huge fight by two younger coworkers. Those coworkers then use the footage – which is super scandalous, apparently – to get ahead in their own careers. It’s a classic power play, and I’m already hooked!

Naturally, those targeted by Beef’s scheme won’t simply accept being extorted. They’ll fight back, and the resulting conflict will range from minor annoyances to serious acts of violence.

The second season of Beef takes a new direction as an anthology series, meaning the original stars, Steven Yeun and Ali Wong—both critically acclaimed for their roles in season one—won’t be returning.

Here’s a complete guide to the cast of Beef season 2, with details about the actors and their characters. Wondering if the new season is any good? Check out our review too!

Beef season 2 cast: Who stars in the latest episodes?

Want to know about the main characters in Beef season 2? We’ve got detailed profiles on each one, plus information about the actors who play them – and where else you might recognize them from.

  • Oscar Isaac as Josh Martín
  • Carey Mulligan as Lindsay Crane-Martín
  • Charles Melton as Austin Davis
  • Cailee Spaeny as Ashley Miller
  • Youn Yuh-jung as Chairwoman Park
  • Seoyeon Jang as Eunice
  • William Fichtner as Troy
  • Mikaela Hoover as Ava
  • BM as Woosh
  • Song Kang-ho as Dr. Kim

Oscar Isaac plays Josh Martín

Josh manages an exclusive country club for wealthy members. He’s well-liked by the regulars, who appreciate how attentive he is to their needs. However, his home life is struggling. He and his wife, Lindsay, are growing apart, and he often retreats to a private space in their home to be alone.

One night, long-held tensions between the couple finally erupted into a huge argument, and unfortunately, their young employees, Ashley and Austin, showed up right in the middle of it. Both of them secretly filmed the fight, and the footage could ruin their carefully maintained public reputation.

Oscar Isaac has been gaining a lot of attention recently for his role as Frankenstein in Guillermo del Toro’s latest film. He’s also starred in critically acclaimed movies like Drive, Inside Llewyn Davis, and Ex Machina. Plus, many know him from big franchises – he played Poe Dameron in the recent Star Wars films and Moon Knight in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

Carey Mulligan plays Lindsay Crane-Martín

Lindsay is Josh’s wife. She’s an interior designer for the club and also organizes fundraising events for charities. Both Lindsay and Josh feel like they’ve lost sight of their original dreams, which is causing tension in their relationship. One thing they still share is their affection for their dachshund, Burberry.

Carey Mulligan has recently received acclaim for her performances in films like The Ballad of Wallis Island, Promising Young Woman, and She Said. She’s also well-known for her earlier work, including roles in Doctor Who, An Education, Never Let Me Go, The Great Gatsby, Drive, and Inside Llewyn Davis, where she acted alongside Isaac, who later became her co-star in Beef.

Charles Melton plays Austin Davis

Austin is a young man trying to become a personal trainer, but currently works a basic job at a leisure club. He and his girlfriend, Ashley, don’t have many qualifications, making it hard for them to earn a good living after moving away from home. They think they’ve found a way to improve their situation by secretly filming their bosses having a fight and using it to their advantage, but this plan quickly backfires and causes even more problems.

Charles Melton first became well-known for his role in the TV show Riverdale. Since then, he’s appeared in the films May December and Warfare.

Cailee Spaeny plays Ashley Miller

Ashley works at the country club and is dating Austin. They’re hoping to build a life together, but they’re facing financial challenges and aren’t sure about their future job opportunities. Despite this, Ashley remains optimistic and works very hard.

I’ve been really impressed with Cailee Spaeny lately! You might recognize her from a couple of recent projects – she played Simone, a really interesting character, in Rian Johnson’s Wake Up Dead Man, and she’s the lead, Rain, in the new Alien: Romulus movie. But she really grabbed my attention in Priscilla, and she was fantastic in the HBO series Mare of Easttown. She seems to really click with Alex Garland too – she’s been in his shows Devs and Civil War, and she’s even got a role in the upcoming movie based on Elden Ring! She’s quickly becoming one of my favorite actors.

Youn Yuh-jung plays Chairwoman Park

Chairwoman Park is the new, wealthy owner of the country club. She recently arrived from Seoul, South Korea, and her staff are worried she might make cuts, potentially costing them their jobs. She comes across as strict and distant.

Youn Yuh-jung won an Academy Award for her role in the 2020 film Minari, alongside Steven Yeun. Before that, she was a well-known actress in South Korea, appearing in films like The Housemaid, The Taste of Money, and The Bacchus Lady. More recently, she’s gained international recognition for her work in the Netflix series Sense8 and the Apple TV+ show Pachinko.

Seoyeon Jang plays Eunice

Eunice works as Chairwoman Park’s personal assistant. She’s often with the Chairwoman, helping to manage her busy schedule and keep things running efficiently.

I recently caught Seoyeon Jang in Prime Video’s action-packed series, Butterfly, and she was fantastic! She played a character named Moon, and shared the screen with Daniel Dae Kim – you might recognize him from Hawaii Five-0 or The Good Doctor. It’s a great performance and definitely worth checking out if you’re a fan of either actor, or just a good action drama.

William Fichtner plays Troy

Troy is a member of the country club and has become friends with Josh. He enjoys a lavish lifestyle with his girlfriend, Ava, who is significantly younger than him.

William Fichtner is known for a variety of roles. Recently, he appeared in Talamasca: The Secret Order, a spin-off of Interview with the Vampire. He’s also well-remembered for his parts as Alexander in Prison Break, Phil in Entourage, and Adam in the sitcom Mom. On the big screen, he’s been in films like the 2014 Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles and Independence Day: Resurgence.

Mikaela Hoover plays Ava

Who is Ava? Ava is Troy’s girlfriend, who is also friendly with Josh and Lindsay.

Besides her recent role as Tony Tony Chopper in the live-action One Piece on Netflix, Mikaela Hoover is known for her frequent work with director James Gunn. They’ve collaborated on several projects, including Super, the Guardians of the Galaxy films, The Belko Experiment, The Suicide Squad, and the 2023 Superman movie.

BM plays Woosh

Woosh teaches tennis at the country club and also earns extra money by recommending his students to Dr. Kim.

What else has BM been in? BM is best known for his music career as a member of the K-pop group Kard.

Song Kang-ho plays Dr Kim

Dr. Kim is a skilled cosmetic surgeon and the husband of Chairwoman Park. He often treats members of the country club owned by his wife.

Many Western audiences will recognize Song Kang-ho from his role in the award-winning film Parasite, which made history as the first non-English language film to win Best Picture at the Oscars. He’s also collaborated with director Bong Joon-ho on other well-known films like Memories of Murder, The Host, and Snowpiercer.

Steven Yeun plays Danny

Danny is a contractor struggling financially, even though he’s working hard to improve his situation. According to Steven Yeun, Danny feels like life is constantly working against him, despite his efforts to do the right thing.

I really connected with what he said about playing Danny. It felt like he was digging into those feelings we all get when we’re constantly worried or insecure. He talked about how Danny’s struggles came from trying to meet his parents’ expectations and dealing with a tough relationship with his brother, and honestly, that resonated with me a lot. It felt incredibly honest and raw.

Okay, so you’re wondering where you recognize Steven Yeun? Honestly, a lot of people first discovered him as Glenn in The Walking Dead. But if you’ve been keeping up with more recent films, you definitely would have seen him in the beautiful and moving Minari – an A24 release – and also in Jordan Peele’s Nope. He’s been consistently delivering fantastic performances, so it’s no surprise you’re starting to recognize that face!

Ali Wong plays Amy

Amy is a successful businesswoman about to sell her company for a substantial profit. She’s also a wife and mother, and from the outside, her life seems ideal. However, things aren’t as perfect as they appear.

Even if you had supportive parents, feelings of abandonment and lingering resentment can still have a powerful impact, according to Wong.

You may know Ali Wong from her recent role in the Prime Video series Paper Girls. She’s also a popular stand-up comedian with several comedy specials on Netflix. Plus, she’s done voice work in the animated shows Big Mouth and Tuca & Bertie.

Young Mazino plays Paul

Paul is Danny’s younger brother, but they don’t have a close relationship. Paul often seems to want to avoid being associated with Danny. According to Mazino, despite being very fit, Paul is surprisingly reserved and doesn’t show off. He tends to be withdrawn and makes an effort to appear less imposing.

Where have I seen Young Mazino before? This is his most sizeable screen role to date.

Joseph Lee plays George

George is Amy’s husband, but their marriage is struggling. He’s generally cheerful and tries to lift Amy’s spirits. He comes from a family of artists – his father was a famous painter – and sometimes feels overshadowed by his success. George makes vases himself, but Amy doesn’t like them.

Where have I seen Joseph Lee before? You might have watched him in Star Trek: Picard.

David Choe as Isaac

Isaac is Danny and Paul’s cousin – he’s known for being loud and saying what’s on his mind. He just got out of prison and isn’t one to follow the rules, always hatching some kind of plan.

Where have I seen David Choe before? He is best known for his podcast work and art.

Patti Yasutake as Fumi

Fumi is George’s mother. She used to act as a publicist for her husband, who was an artist and passed away recently. Fumi and Amy don’t get along, and they often disagree about things.

You might remember Patti Yasutake from her role as Nurse Ogawa in Star Trek.

Maria Bello as Jordan Forster

I’m really concerned about Jordan Forster, this incredibly wealthy guy trying to buy out Amy’s company. I’ve heard he collects sacred artifacts – apparently he has an entire room full of headdresses – and honestly, it feels like a clear example of him taking from cultures that aren’t his own. It just doesn’t sit right with me.

Production designer Grace Yun and showrunner Lee Sung Jin pointed out that the character’s actions regarding Amy’s company, Kōyōhaus, and its rebranding also involve a degree of taking ownership of something that isn’t hers. They explained that the character has a desire to control and dominate.

You might recognize Maria Bello from her TV roles in shows like NCIS and ER. She’s also been in several films, including Prisoners, The Sisters, A History of Violence, The Cooler, and Coyote Ugly.

Ashley Park plays Naomi

Naomi is Jordan’s sister-in-law and becomes friends with Amy. She’s a dedicated stay-at-home mom who also volunteers for non-profit organizations and participates in many different activities. She dislikes it when people assume her only job is taking care of her kids.

You probably recognize Ashley Park from her role as Mindy in the Netflix hit, Emily in Paris. She’s also appeared in the comedies Joy Ride and Girls5eva, as well as the period drama Mr. Malcolm’s List.

Justin H Min plays Edwin

Who is Edwin? A praise team leader at a local Korean church and a childhood friend of Danny’s.

You might recognize Justin H. Min from his role as Ben in Netflix’s The Umbrella Academy. He’s also been in the films After Yang, alongside Colin Farrell and Jodie Turner-Smith, and Shortcomings.

Mia Serafino plays Mia

Mia is one of Amy’s coworkers. They have very different personalities, and this often annoys Amy.

Where have I seen Mia Serafino before? She appeared in NBC sitcom Crowded.

Additional characters include:

  • Remy Holt (The Afterparty) as June, Amy and George’s daughter
  • Alyssa Gihee Kim (Dave) as Veronica, Edwin’s wife
  • Andie Ju (Stargirl) as Esther, another member of the Korean church
  • Andrew Santino (Dave) as Michael and Rekstizzy as Bobby, Isaac’s associates
  • Gina Lee as Mrs Cho and Jerry Hanjoo Kim as Mr Cho, Danny and Paul’s parents
  • Hong Dao (The Emperors’s Gift) and Kelvin Han Yee (Milk) as Mr and Mra Lau, Amy’s parents
  • Kayla Blake (Sports Night) as Dr Catherine Lin, Amy’s therapist
