Coronation Street has seen a lot of heartfelt moments this week as Todd Grimshaw (Gareth Pierce) revealed the difficult time he’s been going through due to abuse from his husband, Theo Silverton (James Cartwright).
Todd arrived at Sarah Platt’s house at the beginning of the week, badly injured after a violent attack by the person who’d been abusing him. Sarah had thought Todd had moved to Northern Ireland, but she didn’t know he’d actually been trapped and held captive in his own bedroom overnight.
As Todd tried to get away, Theo trapped him and physically assaulted him. Sarah advised Todd to see a doctor, but he insisted on reporting the incident to the police first.
Theo pretended to be the one who had been wronged, but Lisa Swain (Vicky Myers) wasn’t fooled and kept him in jail overnight.
Today on the show, Sarah was determined to find Theo’s tablet. She believed he’d altered security footage Todd had collected, and she hoped the tablet would prove it. After searching through his van, she found it – but also stumbled upon something unexpected.

Theo stormed up behind her, angrily threatening to call the police and report her for breaking into his car. Scared of getting in trouble, she ran off and immediately told her boyfriend, Kit Green (Jacob Roberts), what had just happened.
He was shocked she’d take a chance that could ruin the case, and pointed out that the police hadn’t been able to locate the tablet when they looked for it themselves.

Feeling terrible, Sarah admitted to Todd that she’d likely made the situation even more difficult. Todd responded by saying he’d already accepted that Theo would probably not be held accountable for what he’d done.
Over on the street, Debbie Webster (Sue Devaney) insisted on speaking with her son, Carl (Jonathan Howard). He’d given Summer Spellman (Harriet Bibby) important details about her father Billy’s death, and was asking for money in return.
As fans will recall, Billy died in a car fire, and Theo made the difficult decision not to try and save him. Carl has known about this for a while, but he’s kept it a secret.

Debbie was furious that Carl refused to say who killed Billy, so she kicked him out. But Carl wasn’t giving up – he went straight to the corner shop to talk to Summer again.
He said that if they wanted to see Theo sent down for good, it would cost her £10k.
Will Summer agree to Carl’s deal?
