Wow, 2026 is shaping up to be an amazing year for anime! We’re only in Spring now, but it’s already been a fantastic ride. Winter was all about sequels and finally getting those arcs we’ve been waiting for – seriously, you couldn’t miss them! But Spring is totally different; it’s bursting with brand new anime making their first appearance. It’s like a fresh start and I’m loving it!
Many anime from both Winter and Spring seasons are worth watching, but only a handful are truly captivating. I’d recommend three from Winter and two from Spring – they’re the ones you’ll find yourself completely hooked on.
5) Hell’s Paradise Season 2

Season 2 of Hell’s Paradise ramps up the excitement and is even better than the first, with both improved animation and a more compelling story. The first season now feels like a setup for the intense conflicts that unfold here. As prisoners and their guards reluctantly team up against the Tensen, the stage is set for a non-stop series of battles.
Once the story really gets going, the action just keeps building, making it impossible to look away from the battles. That’s why the ending feels so unsatisfying – it introduces important new parts of the story, but doesn’t show them fully. It does, however, make you desperately want to see what happens next season.
4) Frieren Season 2

The second season of Frieren: Beyond Journey’s End premiered in Winter 2026 and proved to be everything fans hoped for. What makes the show so captivating is its focus on the journey itself, and how it shows that even seemingly minor events can be meaningful over time.
That’s what makes this season so captivating. Instead of rushing the main plot forward, it beautifully focuses on smaller, self-contained stories while still feeling true to the show’s heart. With only ten episodes, it’s easy to get completely lost in the world and not even notice when it’s over.
3) Daemons of the Shadow Realm

Daemons of the Shadow Realm is a promising new anime debuting in Spring 2026, created by the author of the popular series Fullmetal Alchemist. After the release of its first two episodes, it’s clear this new show is just as good as its predecessor. Although the story feels similar in style, the high-quality animation by Bones Film makes it even more impressive.
What really draws viewers into this anime is its complex and captivating story. Fans are immediately hooked and want to see how the story unfolds for the main characters. The first two episodes show the series will be full of unexpected twists, which is a major strength. Now, the biggest challenge is simply waiting for each new episode, because the show is already incredibly addictive.
2) Witch Hat Atelier

Though Frieren: Beyond Journey’s End uses magic in a delicate way, Witch Hat Atelier is all about magic, immediately drawing in fans of fantasy. The anime dives completely into a magical story – many compare it to Harry Potter – which makes it incredibly engaging. The story follows Coco, a young girl who discovers magic by chance and begins a journey to become a witch.
This anime stands out because of its magic system – spells are cast by drawing detailed symbols, and Bug Films really brings this concept to life. What’s especially captivating is how the studio uses sound to make these magical scenes feel truly grand. Once you get hooked, the hardest part will be waiting for the next episode!
1) Jujutsu Kaisen Season 3

Season 3 of Jujutsu Kaisen, which premiered in Winter 2026, was highly anticipated and didn’t disappoint. It’s a truly excellent anime, building on the quality of previous seasons. Everything works together perfectly – the animation, music, story, and action – making it incredibly engaging. In fact, it’s difficult to find anything to dislike about this season.
This anime season is a standout – truly excellent and not something you see every year. Surprisingly, even without a major focus on Satoru Gojo, it’s incredibly captivating, and maybe even more so because he’s not constantly present. It’s the type of season that’s impossible to stop watching, with many fans likely to finish it all at once – though the only real downside is that we won’t get another season until 2026.
