Kojima Productions has just released a new update for the PC version of Death Stranding 2: On the Beach. The update mainly addresses bugs and crashes reported by players. It also improves the game’s social features, letting players see more Steam profile pictures next to messages and structures left by others.
This update gives players more control over image sharpness when upscaling images. It also fixes some issues with frame generation. You can find a complete list of changes in the patch notes linked below.
The PC version of Death Stranding 2: On the Beach launched successfully last month, attracting nearly 56,000 players on its first day. Reviews have been overwhelmingly positive, with 96% of users praising the port. According to estimates from Alinea Analytics, the game has sold around 425,000 copies on PC as of the end of March, bringing the total sales across both PC and PlayStation 5 to over 2 million.
So, before Death Stranding 2: On the Beach came to PC, the folks at Kojima Productions talked about what they did specifically for PlayStation. They really leaned into the tech, adding things like ray tracing to make the reflections and shadows look amazing. They also added a new difficulty mode called ‘To The Wilder’ – it’s seriously tough and really tests how good you are at managing your gear and fighting off enemies. And, they even dropped a free update for the PS5 version with some extra gameplay stuff, which was cool.
We gave Death Stranding 2: On the Beach a perfect score of 10/10 on PC. It runs exceptionally well, offers tons of graphics settings, and boasts a captivating story with improved gameplay compared to the first game. We described it as a relaxing yet exciting experience, full of thrilling action and impressive boss battles.
Kojima Productions recently improved the game to make it fully compatible with the Steam Deck. This ‘Steam Deck Verified’ status confirms it runs smoothly on Valve’s handheld device – with clear text, full controller support, and a stable experience free of crashes and performance problems.
