Divas? In show business? Groundbreaking.
As a huge fan of both Anne Hathaway and Meryl Streep, I always thought Andy Sachs (Anne’s character in The Devil Wears Prada) would definitely crown Miranda Priestly the ultimate diva. But it’s so interesting to hear that Anne herself had someone else in mind when thinking about the real-life divas on set during filming of the Princess Diaries sequel! It really makes you wonder who it was.
When Stephen Colbert asked Anne Hathaway who the biggest diva was on set during her April 15th interview on The Late Show, she immediately answered, “Stanley Tucci.”
When asked about the most demanding actor – who was returning as Nigel Kipling in The Devil Wears Prada 2 – she playfully responded, “He’s simply very particular about what he wears.”
That’s not the only (playful) beef the Oscar winner has with her costar either.
Okay, so I’m hearing something pretty interesting from Anne! Despite her husband, Stanley, being a total pasta pro – he’s even got a bestselling cookbook – she says he’s never cooked for her. She put it quite bluntly, saying he hasn’t made her a single bite to eat! It’s a funny little detail that really shows you how things can be even when someone is incredibly talented in the kitchen.
And not for a lack of trying on her end, either.
She explained that she’d tried several times to get him to share the recipe. “I kept asking about the Italian dish he learned while traveling,” she said, “but he always tells me about the trip itself and never actually shares the recipe with me. I don’t understand what I’m doing to discourage him!”

Putting the fun aside, the 43-year-old actor is thrilled to be working again with Stanley, Meryl, and Emily Blunt on their new movie. It’s been 20 years since they all starred in the original film together.
She highlighted how meaningful the filmmaking process was for her. While she hoped audiences would enjoy the movie, she’s especially grateful for the lasting connection she’s had with it over the past 20 years, starting from when it was made.
The reunion was especially thrilling for Anne. While she knew people enjoyed the movie, she hadn’t imagined the original cast would ever be able to make a sequel.
Anne recently shared that she and her fellow original cast members of The Devil Wears Prada never imagined they’d be working together again. Speaking on Fandango’s Big Ticket Podcast with Stanley, she said a reunion seemed very unlikely.
Indeed, rumors of a follow-up had come and gone over the last two decades.
“I honestly didn’t expect this,” Stanley admitted. “In all my 45 years working in show business, I’ve never seen anything like it.”

Anne Hathaway and Meryl Streep began promoting the upcoming film Devil Wears Prada 2 with a press event held at the home of Frida Kahlo, La Casa Azul, where they both wore striking black and white suits.
Anne Hathaway, known for The Princess Diaries, wore a black Schiaparelli outfit at the event on March 30th. Meanwhile, the Oscar-winning actress chose a vibrant red suit by Dolce & Gabbana.
Gird your loins because the Mamma Mia! star swapped out her red look for a stunning navy blue Schiaparelli number at the Devil Wears Prada 2 premiere at the Anahuacalli Museum later that day.
I was absolutely blown away by Meryl’s outfit at the Japan premiere! She completely rocked a red and white Chanel suit and skirt – the black fringe detail was just stunning and so unique. It was a truly memorable look.
Anne Hathaway, known for her role in The Princess Diaries, wore a striking black and red Valentino gown with ruffles to the event at Roppongi Hills Arena.

Everyone was eager to get a photo with the stars of The Devil Wears Prada at the press conference in South Korea on April 8th.
Meryl wore a striking red Prada suit with a belted waist when she arrived at the Four Seasons hotel. Anne chose a more edgy look, pairing black leather pants with a white top that showed off her shoulders.

At the Times Square premiere, the two actresses made a striking impression with their outfits. Anne chose a bold red Balenciaga dress with a dramatic, flowing bomber jacket and a sleek skirt. Meryl, meanwhile, opted for a sophisticated all-black Celine suit and sunglasses.

Meryl attended the premiere on April 10th wearing a sleek, blue satin midi dress by YSL. The dress had a high neckline and a black sash at the waist. She accessorized with YSL sunglasses, a stunning Cindy Chao brooch, and Alexandre Birman heels to complete her look.
Anne then made her entrance wearing a dreamy, strapless gown by Susan Fang, featuring delicate pink and blue ruffles.
