George Knight is in for a surprise when his adoptive father, Eddie, unexpectedly comes back into his life on EastEnders.
Jimmy Fairbank, known for playing Eddie in ‘Auf Wiedersehen, Pet’, was revealed to be a murderer in early 2024. It was discovered he had killed George’s biological father, Henry Asare, forty years earlier, leading to his imprisonment after appearing in 16 episodes.
A representative for EastEnders has announced that Christopher Fairbank will be back on the show for a brief period this spring.
When Arthur and Gloria arrived in Albert Square, it soon became clear they weren’t reuniting with their son for good reasons – their intentions were actually quite malicious.
George learned he was adopted from West Africa through an arrangement where babies were sent to families in other countries. When Henry traveled to the UK to bring George home, Gloria desperately begged Eddie to prevent it.
Eddie and several of his racist friends brutally attacked and killed Henry. They then packed his body into a suitcase and dumped it in the canal. A young George saw the attack happen, but didn’t know who Henry was.

George’s testimony in court severely damaged Eddie’s reputation, leading to his imprisonment. Sadly, on the very same day, Gloria fell ill and died.
Honestly, I was shocked when I heard he completely took over the funeral plans. He wouldn’t even let George come, and didn’t bother to tell him when it was happening. It felt so cold and deliberate, completely shutting George out of saying goodbye.

This news, originally published in The Sun, is particularly unfortunate for George. He’s been doing so well lately, especially since his daughter, Ivy, was born.
He’s started a new company called Knight Fusion and is now involved with Ivy’s mother, Nicola Mitchell, played by Laura Doddington, who has a complex personality.
When Fairbank was cast in 2024, he expressed his excitement about joining EastEnders, saying he’d been made to feel very welcome and was enjoying working with the show’s talented cast.
