As a long-time Emmerdale viewer, I was really glad to see Jacob Sugden finally open up about the bullying he’s been experiencing from Dr. Todd. It takes a lot of courage to speak out, and I’m proud of him for doing so. It’s been clear to me, and many others, that Dr. Todd’s behavior wasn’t right, and I’m hoping this leads to things being addressed properly.
I’m really intrigued by Harker’s character! She’s described it as super complex, and honestly, she’s been so right. It’s going to be fascinating to watch how Jacob deals with her, because she’s totally unpredictable. One minute she’s encouraging his dream of becoming a doctor, and the next she’s suggesting he doesn’t have what it takes! It’s keeping me on the edge of my seat.
Jacob has made several errors, including incorrectly diagnosing Kim Tate and attempting CPR on Todd’s father even though there was a do-not-resuscitate order. Now, things have become more complicated as she’s moved to the village and started investigating his history.
Jacob switched work shifts with a coworker to avoid being around Todd. He was really struggling to work with her and thought volunteering at a blood drive would be a nice change of pace.
Todd had already arrived and unfortunately made things worse by mentioning Maya Stepney. As longtime viewers may remember, Maya was Jacob’s former teacher and the ex-wife of Liam Cavanagh, and she had previously exploited Liam for her own benefit.

Gabby Thomas mentioned the difficult situation Liam had been through, and Jacob started to question how much she really knew. She tried to comfort him by pointing out that his name hadn’t been mentioned in any news reports, implying she had no way of knowing the details.
He walked over to speak with Todd, and she immediately started crying, explaining she hadn’t understood their link and didn’t want a difficult conversation right now, as she was still grieving her father’s recent death. Feeling unsure how to respond, Jacob apologised and then went to discuss the situation with Manpreet Sharma at The Woolpack.
Okay, so I just found out she accidentally let slip to Todd about Maya weeks ago. And honestly, it hit me like a ton of bricks – Todd’s been deliberately bringing Maya up all this time. He’s a total liar, and it was all planned!

Jacob seemed really troubled in today’s episode, and Ross Barton encouraged him to share what was bothering him. Ross suggested they try to resolve the issue and fix things before it escalated.
I remember seeing Todd head into Tug Ghyll, and honestly, I just couldn’t let him get away with it. I rushed over and basically blocked the door, refusing to let her close it. It was a bit intense, but I needed to talk to him!
She wasn’t impressed, saying that she had a meeting at the undertakers to attend.

He started to feel frustrated when he asked to transfer to a different team, and when his request was denied, he realized he’d have to take the issue to someone higher up.
Even though he knew it might not be easy, he went to HR at Hotten General to discuss the problem. He explained that Todd had been bullying and manipulating him, and that things had gotten worse over the past few months.
How will Todd react to the complaint?
