Steam Makes Sci-Fi Game 100% Free for 72 Hours

Okay, so there’s this game on Steam that’s usually paid, but it’s free right now! I went to check it out on my Steam Deck, and sadly, it’s listed as unsupported – which is a bummer. Still, I added it to my library just in case they ever add Deck support, but honestly, I’m not holding my breath. If you’re a PC gamer and want to grab it, you’ve got until April 23rd at 1 PM Eastern Time to add it to your account before it goes back to its regular price.

For the next 72 hours, PC gamers can get the sci-fi adventure game Sentience: The Android’s Tale and Pilgrim Adventures completely free – a $5 value! It’s a smaller game that came out in 2017 and has received positive reviews on Steam, with 87% of 115 user reviews recommending it.

“A Nice Point-and-Click Adventure”

I’ve been checking out what people are saying about this game, and a lot of players seem to really enjoy it. One review called it a classic point-and-click adventure with an awesome soundtrack and a story that really pulls you in. Another player said they loved it – they described it as a fun, mind-bending sci-fi game where your choices actually matter, because there are a ton of different endings you can unlock!

Okay, so I’ve been hearing a lot about this game, and another player just nailed why I love it too. They said it’s one of the few games they’ve ever beaten and immediately started again to try different things. And that really hits home for me! So many games say your choices matter, but this one actually delivers. The story feels genuinely shaped by what you do, and the writing and characters are just really well done. It’s a total replay experience, for sure.

As Steam players have noted, Sentience: The Android’s Tale is a role-playing game made with RPG Maker that offers different possible endings. You play as an android and immediately have to decide whether to obey orders or forge your own path. Throughout the game, you’ll meet and interact with twenty-four colonists who are stationed—and have been stuck for a long time—on the remote planet of Akritas.

If you decide to try the free sci-fi game on Steam, you can expect to spend around five to ten hours playing it. But with its choices and multiple endings, you’ll likely want to play it again, easily doubling or tripling that playtime. If this game doesn’t appeal to you, don’t worry – there are plenty of other free games available on Steam right now.
