American Idol Contestants Brooks Rosser, Rae Boyd Are Dating

Rae Boyd found herself a Prince Charming.

After being eliminated from season 24 of American Idol on April 13th, contestant Lucy Grace quickly confirmed she was dating fellow competitor Brooks Rosser. They made their relationship public during the show’s Disney Night episode on April 20th.

After Brooks finished singing Miley Cyrus’s song, “The Climb,” host Ryan Seacrest hinted that a surprise was in store for the singer.

Ryan said he loved the show because of the people you get to know, the friendships you make, and the unforgettable experiences it creates. He then playfully asked Brooks if he’d made any connections, joking that he’d heard Brooks was quite the charmer.

You know, it was really sweet! Ryan shared that Rae actually came to support him, and he said it meant a lot because she’s one of his biggest fans – a true Brooks enthusiast returning to show her support. He was a little shy about mentioning it, but it was a lovely moment.

After rushing onto the stage and embracing Brooks, Rae publicly acknowledged their romantic relationship, playfully declaring, “The princess has come for her prince!”

Though Rae’s time on Idol is over, she’s thrilled to cheer on her boyfriend, who made it into the Top Seven. Throughout the show, many viewers thought the two singers from Maryland were a couple, noticing their flirty comments and shared music posts on Instagram.

One person commented on an April 12th post, hoping to see a romance develop. Another user pointed out how sweetly the man was looking at Rae, saying it felt like a scene from a fairytale.

Rae and Brooks seem to have found a perfect romance, no matter what happens on American Idol.

Now that Brooks has moved forward, he’s still in contention for the championship, and his next event is Taylor Swift Night on April 27th.

And despite Rae’s elimination, she has kept her head up and her music aspirations alive.

On April 16th, she posted on Instagram about her experience on Idol, encouraging her followers to keep pursuing their dreams. She wrote, “When one opportunity ends, even more will come your way.”

Kelly Clarkson, mother to River and Remy, has achieved incredible success since her debut on the first season of American Idol in 2002. Based in New York, she’s won three Grammy Awards, topped the Billboard Hot 100 chart three times, served as a judge on NBC’s The Voice, and is now wrapping up her celebrated daytime talk show, The Kelly Clarkson Show.

The runner-up from season two of the show publicly came out in September 2008, explaining that the birth of his son, Parker, with his friend and music producer Jaymes Foster, was a major reason. He told Good Morning America that he didn’t want to teach his son to be dishonest or hide parts of himself, and he wanted to create a supportive environment where his son could be true to who he is.

Since then, this well-known performer has transitioned from music to politics, even running for Congress in 2016. After the election, he released a documentary detailing his experiences. Despite his shift in focus, he hasn’t abandoned music completely, recently touring with season two winner Ruben Studdard in 2023 and 2024.

Ruben, the winner of season two of Idol, went on to achieve significant success, including a Grammy nomination and several popular albums. In 2013, he appeared as a contestant on The Biggest Loser, quickly becoming a favorite among viewers. Though eliminated twice, he gained valuable insights from the experience. Beyond his career, Ruben has maintained a close friendship with fellow Idol contestant Clay, and found lasting love with his wife, Kristin, with whom he welcomed their second child in 2024.

The season three champion recently reflected on her journey with gratitude, acknowledging both the challenges and triumphs along the way. In a December 2023 interview with TopMob News, she explained, “Life has its ups and downs, you stumble, but you always get back up.” She expressed particular satisfaction with overcoming significant setbacks, saying, “Having lost everything twice and fought my way back, this feels especially rewarding.”

Beyond her career achievements, she’s celebrated personal milestones, including welcoming daughter Keziah with husband Kendall Taylor in 2021, and receiving a Golden Globe nomination for the remake of The Color Purple. As a mother to both Keziah and her adult daughter Zion, the North Carolina native shared her desire to savor this moment, knowing how much hard work it took to get here.

Although she didn’t win season three of the competition, this musician has achieved incredible success! She won an Oscar for Dreamgirls in 2006 and a Grammy for her work in the 2017 adaptation of The Color Purple. She’s also been a judge on The Voice. Most recently, this mother to son David has launched her own talk show.

Carrie Underwood quickly became a pop culture icon the moment she appeared on Idol, and she went on to win season four. She’s since become one of country music’s biggest stars. For over a decade, she also co-hosted the CMA Awards with Brad Paisley. In addition to her successful music career and hosting duties, Carrie is a mom to two sons with her husband, retired hockey player Mike Fisher.

Carrie Underwood will be joining the judging panel of American Idol in 2024, taking over for Katy Perry.

In a 2023 interview with TopMob News, she shared her hope that Rennie will become proficient in many instruments, just like his father. However, she emphasized that they are letting him explore his interests naturally. “We’re just letting him do his thing,” she said, “but I would love for him to have a working understanding of all instruments a lot like his dad. I think he’s on his way—that’s for sure.”

Following his appearance on American Idol, season five finalist Elliott Yamin, known for his hit song “Wait for You,” traveled to Angola. There, he teamed up with former Idol judge Kara DioGuardi to support Malaria No More. In 2010, Yamin also gained attention for surviving the earthquake in Chile and sharing his experience on Twitter. Kellie Pickler gained recognition after placing sixth on the fifth season of American Idol. She also appeared in the Hallmark movie Christmas in Graceland and received three Daytime Emmy nominations for her TV show, Pickler & Ben.

Following the tragic death of her husband, Kyle Jacobs, in February 2023, Pickler shared a valuable lesson he taught her. She told People magazine that he advised her to “do nothing, just be still” during a crisis, and she has been following that advice in the wake of his passing.

The winner of season six made a big impact in 2007, becoming the youngest female to ever win the competition. She toured 35 U.S. cities and even appeared on Broadway in 2010’s In the Heights. Her success continued, and in May 2018, she and Dana Isaiah welcomed their first son. Since then, she’s returned to Idol and competed on season 31 of Dancing With the Stars.

In 2010, he traveled to Ethiopia with the United Nations to support their work empowering women. He also participated in the Race for Hope in Washington D.C., raising money for brain cancer research in memory of his brother Adam, who passed away in 2009. Since marrying Racheal Stump in 2015, David continues to tour and released his latest single, “TABOS,” in 2022.

Okay, so you have to know, Danny Gokey is incredible! And get this – he has his own eyewear brand, Danny Gokey Eyewear! I mean, is there anything this man can’t do? I’m obsessed, obviously.

As a lifestyle expert, I’ve been following Lee DeWyze’s journey since his win on season nine back in 2010! After hitting the road with the top ten finalists, he really launched his music career. It’s lovely to see how things unfolded personally too – he met his now-wife, Jonna Walsh, while filming the music video for his first single after Idol, and they married in 2012. Now, he’s a successful singer-songwriter, and I was so excited to hear his music featured on a show like The Walking Dead! It’s proof that passion and talent really do pay off.

The singer, who finished as a runner-up on season nine of a singing competition, married musician Brian Walker and released her debut album, Farmer’s Daughter, in December 2010. He eventually signed with the jazz label Concord. His first self-titled album came out in 2012, followed by I Put A Spell On You in 2018 and Jazz in 2019.

Though Jimmie Allen was eliminated before the live shows on season 10 of a singing competition, he’s since achieved significant success, with two songs – “Best Shot” (2018) and “Make Me Want To” – reaching number one. He also won the Country Music Association’s New Artist of the Year award in 2021.

In April 2023, Jimmie and his wife, Alexis Allen, announced they were expecting their third child, but also revealed they were ending their two-year marriage. Shortly after, Jimmie was accused of sexual assault and abuse by a former manager in a lawsuit. He admitted to infidelity and publicly apologized to Alexis for the affair, but denied the allegations of misconduct, stating his relationship with the manager was consensual.

The couple announced they were working to reconcile their marriage shortly after welcoming their son, Cohen Ace James, in September.

Following his victory on season 11, the musician’s single, “Home,” became a chart-topping hit and was featured as the theme song for NBC’s 2012 Summer Olympics coverage.

In 2015, he married Hannah Blackwell in a private ceremony with close family and friends. They later had a son, Patch, in 2019.

Before releasing her album Whirlwind in 2019, a year after winning season 16 of Idol, the artist told TopMob News that the album features a variety of different sounds. She explained that she enjoys experimenting with different styles and found it difficult to commit to just one musical direction because she loved them all.

Since finishing as a finalist on season 16 of the show, the singer has been busy creating new music and taking advantage of the opportunities that came with being on ABC. Caleb Lee told TopMob News that he’s always been passionate about music and pursuing a career as an artist, but the show taught him a lot about the entertainment industry. He even had the chance to join Luke Bryan on stage during Bryan’s final tour performance. Caleb’s latest album, Southern Galactic, was released in October 2023.

Following her third-place finish on season 16 of Idol, singer Gabby Barrett concentrated on completing her album. She expressed her excitement about performing at Stagecoach and called touring with Brad Paisley a fantastic bonus, telling TopMob News, “It’s crazy to go on tour with him.”
