Crunchyroll’s Biggest Shonen Jump Anime of The Year Reveals Dub Release

I’ve been following the Spring 2026 anime season closely, and one show everyone was really looking forward to finally arrived this month: Marriagetoxin. It’s based on a popular Shonen Jump action manga by Joumyaku and Mizuki Yoda, which started in 2022. Fans loved the manga, and so far, the adaptation by Bones Film is really delivering! Only three episodes are out, but it’s already become one of the most talked-about anime this season – and there are a lot of great shows competing for attention. Good news for English-speaking viewers, the English dub premiered alongside the third episode.

New episodes of the anime become available on Crunchyroll every Tuesday at 7:30 AM Pacific Time, soon after they air in Japan. Dubbed episodes will be released at the same time, but a little after the subtitled versions. You can find the full cast and crew list—including the actors who voice Hikaru (Ethan Gallardo), Mei (Brittney Karbowski), Akari (Taylor Murphy), and others—on the official Crunchyroll website. The anime is also available on Netflix, but only in certain parts of Asia. Since Netflix hasn’t announced when the dubbed version will be available, Crunchyroll is currently the best place to watch it.

What Is Marriagetoxin About?

I’ve been really impressed with Marriagetoxin – it’s quickly become one of my favorite Shonen Jump series from the last few years. The story follows Hikaru Gero, a member of a centuries-old clan of assassins. They’re known as the Poison Clan, and they’re considered one of the most skilled and secretive groups in the country. They specialize in poisons and traps, and are feared throughout the criminal world for their ability to eliminate targets swiftly and efficiently, often without the target even realizing what’s happening. It’s full of action, interesting characters, and surprisingly sweet moments.

Hikaru is an incredibly skilled assassin, but he’s lived a solitary life, never going to school and always operating in secret. He has no interest in marriage, but his clan insists he find a wife and have a child. They worry the family line will end with him, and he’s forced to agree to their demands to protect his sister from being forced into a marriage of her own.

Hikaru wants to make sure his sister can stay with her girlfriend, so he takes matters into his own hands to ensure her happiness. He ends up proposing a fake marriage to Mei Kinosaki, who is famous for tricking people with marriage schemes. He quickly discovers Mei’s secret, and they team up, each with their own hidden motives. After the initial setup, the story moves into the ‘Water User’ arc, where Mei persuades Hikaru to begin a project focused on helping others, leading to a fresh set of problems for him to solve.
