Sometimes, the cosmic aspect of Marvel might seem overshadowed by events on Earth, but Dotemu and Tribute Games are shedding light on this dimension with their eagerly anticipated beat ’em up game, “Marvel Cosmic Invasion.” The game already boasts a refreshed roster featuring characters like Nova and Phyla-Vell alongside staples like Spider-Man and Storm. At San Diego Comic-Con today, they unveiled two more prominent additions to the team: fan favorites Beta Ray Bill and Silver Surfer. You can watch them in action with the trailer below.
Clearly, both characters will prove formidable opponents, with Beta Ray Bill standing out due to his powerful Uru hammer, Stormbreaker. Bill tends to engage aggressively, but he also has some strategic maneuvers at his disposal. For instance, he can perform a Stormbreaker Spin attack where the hammer spins around him, pushing back any adversaries it touches. Moreover, there’s a move where he sends Stormbreaker flying forward and keeps it spinning in mid-air, repeatedly knocking back and damaging enemies.
Silver Surfer proves formidable in hand-to-hand fights, displaying a variety of lethal combo attacks when situations get intense. What sets him apart is his mobility; he can swiftly traverse the screen using his surfboard, positioning himself to engage nearly any opponent. He also uses his board as a weapon, sending it a short distance to repel foes and maintain distance. When cornered, Surfer can launch the Cosmic Shockwave, causing damage to all enemies and pushing them away.
The team didn’t just stop there with their revelations though. Additionally, Tribute Games unveiled that the game will incorporate voiceovers for its playable characters, and the talent pool is impressive.
