The Voice Singer Dylan Carter’s Official Cause of Death Released

The details have emerged surrounding the death of Dylan Carter.

The Colleton County coroner in South Carolina confirmed to TMZ that singer Aaron Carter died from injuries sustained in a car accident. He passed away on April 25th at the age of 24.

Authorities determined his death was an accident. Reports indicated he was wearing a seatbelt when his car went off the road on Lowcountry Highway.

According to law enforcement, a Tesla crashed on U.S. Route 21 South after leaving the roadway. The 2026 vehicle hit a pole and a fence before overturning. The driver, who was alone in the car, was taken to the hospital, where he died.

Carter first became well-known as a contestant on season 24 of The Voice in 2023, where he was coached by Reba McEntire. McEntire later expressed her grief after his sudden death.

She shared on Instagram on April 27th how much she’ll miss Dylan, describing him as a bright, kind, and gifted young man who always lit up the set of The Voice. She ended with a message of rest in peace for her friend.

LeAnn Rimes’ ex-husband, Eddie Cibrian’s father, also passed away, as confirmed by The Local Voice, a cancer support nonprofit he helped start. The organization described him as a central figure in their work.

A statement on The Local Voice’s Facebook page on April 26th shared that he truly believed everyone’s voice deserved to be heard, and he lived by that principle daily. He connected people through his music, warmth, and positive energy, making sure everyone felt valued. The community is deeply thankful for Dylan, his generosity, and the lasting difference he made.

“Our family is heartbroken to hear about the passing of Dylan Carter in a car accident,” he wrote on Facebook April 26. “As a gifted singer, he frequently entertained our community with his performances at Town events. His kindness and charm earned him immense respect, and his absence will be deeply felt.”
