Capcom announced plans to add a new mini-game to Resident Evil Requiem in May, and recent statements from the developers suggest the update will arrive very soon.
In a recent interview with Denfaminico Gamer (reported by VGC), game director Koshi Nakanishi and producer Masato Kumazawa discussed the upcoming downloadable content. They explained that the new mini-game will be a single-player experience centered around the combat players enjoy in the main game.
To play the new mini-game, you first need to finish the main story. Kumazawa recommends completing the campaign by the end of Golden Week, a Japanese holiday finishing on May 6th. He believes this timeframe is perfect for unlocking and enjoying the mini-game.
The piece of advice would suggest Capcom plans to release the mini game around this time.
An upcoming story expansion for Resident Evil Requiem is now in full development, according to a recent interview. Details are scarce, but it promises to explore the world of Requiem more thoroughly.
Many players are hoping the new mini-game coming next month will be another installment of Mercenaries, considering the game’s emphasis on fighting.
This new content will add to and enhance a PlayStation 5 game that’s already being talked about as a potential Game of the Year winner. The game has already received one update since its February release – a Photo Mode was added for players.
Our Resident Evil Requiem PS5 review gave the game an 8 out of 10, highlighting its successful blend of survival and action horror. We noted that it effectively offers two distinct experiences in one package: classic survival horror and fast-paced action.
