For the 2026 TIME100 Gala on April 23rd, the actress known for Verity surprised fans with a noticeably lighter hairstyle. She traded her typically dark hair for a slightly tousled blonde look, which was one of the lightest shades she’d worn in years.

Dakota subtly changed her hair color, taking inspiration from Carolyn Bessette-Kennedy’s blonde hair. She lightened her roots to a soft brown and added blonde highlights, creating a look now known as “the Bessette Blonde.”

Celebrity hair colorist Tracey Cunningham created her signature “dirty blonde” look using the Foiled Cashmere technique from Schwarzkopf Professional, the brand announced.

The 36-year-old’s hairstyle also featured a layered cut as well as her signature wispy bangs.
