A new children’s show featuring charming wool frogs handmade by Holger Auffenberg, the winner of ‘Game of Wool,’ is coming to CBeebies. TopMob has a special first look at the series!
Froglets is a show about three frog friends created by Auffenberg, the winner of Tom Daley’s Game of Wool in December 2025. The characters are brought to life by puppeteers and the story follows their everyday adventures living together in a house.
The pre-school show will arrive on 11 May 2026 on CBeebies and BBC iPlayer.
Holger told TopMob that the new show, Froglets – narrated by Sue Perkins – is about the daily lives of three frog best friends who live together in a house. The catch? They’re all made of knitted yarn, and the family dog is the only one who knows they’re there.
He described the show as a delightful series for young children, where three adventurous characters explore the human world using their big imaginations and a seemingly endless collection of wonderful clothes.
He explained that the show aims to encourage kids to use their imaginations and enjoy playing with everyday objects they have around the house.

Holger explained that the series began a few years ago after the team noticed a popular trend on Instagram: knitted frogs. Creators like Claire Garland (@dotpebbles_knits) were leading the way, and the cozy, ‘cottagecore’ aesthetic of this trend initially inspired the production team.
Holger explained that the show stands out from other children’s television because it intentionally blends a charmingly classic style with contemporary elements, creating a unique and appealing atmosphere.
Froglets offers a gentler, more deliberate speed, allowing children to really connect with and understand what they’re seeing – much like other programs on CBeebies.

Instead of relying on computer-generated imagery, a custom-built filming setup was created to capture the Froglets using live action techniques.
Holger explained that the characters are intentionally animated with a simple, childlike style using traditional puppetry. This technique mimics how a child would move the characters during play, creating stories that feel genuine and heartwarming.
Created by Massimo Fenati, this series was commissioned by Rai Kids in Italy and is a collaboration between Eaglet Pictures and Pesci Combattenti, both Italian companies.
Tess Cuming is the executive producer, and Riccardo Mastropietro directs and produces each episode.
