The classic Masters of the Universe is coming back to the big screen, bringing with it many beloved characters. We’ve already seen the main heroes and villains in trailers, but now, thanks to some newly released footage, we’re getting a better look at even more characters – including Skeletor and a host of He-Man’s enemies.
Amazon MGM Studios has shared two new videos offering a closer look at their upcoming film, one highlighting the heroes and the other focusing on the villains. The villain footage immediately introduces characters like Tri Klops, Spikor, Goat Man, and Karg – this is the first time we’ve seen these characters clearly in any released footage, and Karg’s design closely resembles his look from the 1987 Masters of the Universe movie. The video also features new glimpses of Beast Man, Trap Jaw, Evil-Lyn, and Skeletor. You can watch the new footage below.
New Masters of the Universe Footage Shows More Sides To Skeletor
This new featurette really focuses on the villains, but as a huge fan, I was excited to see more of Skeletor! Even though the glimpses are short, we actually get new lines from him in almost every shot. It’s giving me a much better sense of who this version of Skeletor is and how he connects to the cartoon I grew up with. It’s awesome!
The villain’s video shows Skeletor having defeated Eternia’s heroes, and he threatens Fisto, vowing to eliminate them one by one. Another clip reveals Skeletor declaring, “The universe shall quake in my shadow.” These moments highlight Skeletor’s intimidating nature, but the footage also includes the cartoon’s more playful side.
Towards the end of a short feature focusing on the villain, Skeletor has a conversation with He-Man. He begins by delivering a classic villainous line – “I am the villain” – but then surprisingly finishes with a playful, “and mmmm, does it feel good.” Based on the footage shown at CinemaCon, there are more scenes like this, and we’re excited to see them all!
I’m really excited because it looks like both the good guys and the bad guys get some great moments! We see a lot more of Teela and Adam, and Man-At-Arms is definitely present. But honestly, one of the coolest things is that they’re giving some of the other heroes – like Roboto, Mekaneck, and even Ram Man – a chance to really shine with more to say and do. It’s awesome!
Mekaneck finally has a chance to shine in an exciting action scene, and there’s a really good conversation between Adam and Ram Man right before we see Ram Man in action. Excitement for the new Masters of the Universe movie is building quickly, and fans can’t wait for it to come out.
Masters of the Universe is set to hit theaters on June 5th, 2026.
