The couple enjoyed a rare night out at the U.K. premiere of Billie Eilish’s new concert film, Billie Eilish – Hit Me Hard and Soft: The Tour (Live in 3D), in London on April 28. The former talk show host immediately shared her positive thoughts about the film.
Ellen DeGeneres shared on Instagram that she and Portia de Rossi recently attended the premiere of Billie Eilish’s new 3D concert film, which Billie directed with James Cameron. Ellen praised the film’s behind-the-scenes content, saying it’s the closest experience to seeing Billie in concert, and even better.
Oh my gosh, seeing Ellen and Portia with Billie Eilish last night was EVERYTHING! They were beaming in the photos, just so happy for her at the premiere. It was for her new film about the Hit Me Hard and Soft tour, and honestly, seeing them all together just made my week! I’m obsessed with all of them, and it was such a perfect night for everyone.
Ellen and Billie have been friends for a long time, but Ellen’s recent public appearance at Billie’s event was notable because Ellen and her wife of 17 years have been keeping a low profile since moving from California to the English countryside.
You know, I was chatting with Richard Bacon recently, and we were both struck by how refreshing it is to experience true beauty in its simplest form. We were talking about visiting some smaller towns and villages, and it really hit us – we’ve become so accustomed to modern life that we’ve almost forgotten what a charming, slower pace looks like. It’s the architecture, the way of life… everything feels more authentic and lovely. It’s a beautiful reminder to appreciate the simple things.
She described the area as clean and an improvement in many ways, noting the good treatment of animals and the friendly people. She said she loves living there, even though they moved in November – a less than ideal time. She was delighted to experience snow for the first time. They’ve settled in well, with Portia bringing her horses and she keeping chickens, and they even had sheep for a short time.
