Okay, so this is HUGE news for horror fans like me! Akira Yamaoka – the guy who did the music for Silent Hill, which is seriously legendary – is doing the soundtrack for the new Remothered game, Remothered 3. I just watched a video where he talks about working on it, and it shows some gameplay from the PS5 version. I’m already getting chills just thinking about it!
In a recent statement, composer Akira Yamaoka explained that his goal for the game’s music was to create an immersive experience, subtly affecting players and leaving a memorable, mysterious impression.
Stormind Games views this partnership as a crucial moment for the Remothered series, allowing them to finally achieve their goal of creating a truly immersive and story-driven horror experience.
Stormind Games CEO Antonio Cannata stated that collaborating with Akira Yamaoka is a major milestone for both the studio and the Remothered series. Yamaoka’s influential work is central to the survival horror genre, and the team is thrilled he’s helping to create the unique soundscape for Red Nun’s Legacy.
The next installment in the series, Red Nun’s Legacy, is planned for release on PS5 before the end of 2026. However, previous games haven’t been well-received; the latest, Remothered: Broken Porcelain, only received a score of 44 on Metacritic for the PS4 and had major technical problems when it first launched.
