Two Brothers Pictures, the company behind the book Atomfall, has announced it will be adapted into a TV series. The show will be developed by the team who also created Fleabag and Assassin.
According to Eurogamer, the upcoming TV show Atomfall will be written by Harry and Jack Williams, the creators of popular series like Baptiste and The Missing. Alex Mercer will executive produce, bringing experience from shows such as Doctor Who and Maya.
The Williams brothers, who are adapting Atomfall for TV, say they’ve really enjoyed capturing the story’s unique British atmosphere and location. They’re also thrilled to be able to develop this unusual and eerie story for a television audience. Jason and Chris Kingsley of Rebellion are equally pleased about the collaboration.

It’s still unclear if the Atomfall TV show will follow the game’s storyline closely or focus more on the characters. The game is very open and allows players to explore and discover things naturally, which is difficult to translate into a TV show that needs a clear, straightforward plot.
Given the game’s popularity, it’s not surprising that Atomfall is being adapted for television. It quickly became Rebellion’s most successful launch, reaching one million players in its first weekend, likely helped by its immediate availability on Game Pass.
If you’re unfamiliar with Atomfall, it’s a first-person survival game that draws inspiration from iconic British shows like The Prisoner, Doctor Who, and The Quatermass Experiment, alongside video games such as BioShock and Fallout: New Vegas.
The game takes place in a charming British village and its nearby fields after a nuclear accident inspired by the real Windscale disaster. It gives you a lot of freedom to explore and uncover secrets right from the start.
Since its release last year, Atomfall has grown with two big story updates: Wicked Isle and The Red Strain. These expansions add more depth to the game’s factions and enemies.
Atomfall is available to play now on PC, PlayStation, and Xbox. You can also read a review of the game by our reviewer, Erren, right here.
