The recently concluded Jujutsu Kaisen Modulo manga, created by Gege Akutami and illustrated by Yuji Iwasaki, finished its run after resolving the conflict between humans and the Simurians. The series began in September 2025 and was planned to last six months, and it adhered to that schedule, concluding in March 2026. Thanks to Maru and Yuji Itadori, both sides are now working towards a peaceful future, even though things became difficult after Yakumaru fatally shot Cross. The fight between Dabura and Yuka ended without a winner because Maru interrupted Dabura’s Harmony Ritual. Realizing Dabura was winning, Maru sent him back to Simuria to save Yuka’s life.
When I arrived, I saw Dabura quickly take over as the new leader of the Deskunte tribe after killing their previous leader. The very first thing he did was give Dura a proper burial, honoring him as a hero. It was clear Dabura didn’t want to be in charge – he wasn’t interested in the politics of it all. As the story wrapped up in Chapter 25, there was a suggestion he might return, but we never found out what happened with that, leaving things unresolved.
Jujutsu Kaisen Modulo Ends With Hinting At Dabura’s Return

The last volume of the manga was released in Japan on May 1st, 2026, completing the sequel series. Although it hasn’t been released internationally yet, the popular Jujutsu Kaisen fan account @Go_Jover on X shared images of the illustrations and bonus panels. They also confirmed that the story doesn’t mention Dabura’s return, and leaves the identity of the final character up to interpretation. While many fans suspected Dabura returned for Kyoko, an official confirmation would have provided closure to their storyline. Disappointingly, the long-awaited reunion between the two didn’t happen, especially frustrating for fans who were invested in their relationship as the most popular pairing in the sequel.
In Chapter 11, we meet Kyoko Tomoe, the school nutritionist at Jujutsu High, who is busy preparing meals for a conference between sorcerers and the Simurians. Dabura, the Simurian leader, was attending the conference hoping to find a way to help his sister, who was suffering under the Deskunte chief. He happened to meet Kyoko, and she couldn’t take her eyes off him. Despite his attempts to appear calm, Dabura became flustered after their encounter, noticeably losing his composure.
Kyoko’s feelings for him were clear, but they never became a couple after talks broke down, leading to a bitter rivalry. In the last part of the story, Kyoko laments her unfulfilled romance upon learning Dabura has gone home. The manga concludes with a surprising arrival that leaves the characters shocked, ending on an unresolved cliffhanger—likely because the creators intentionally left the ending open to interpretation, even though the outcome is fairly predictable.
