2 Years Later, Jujutsu Kaisen’s Sequel Gave a Perfect Conclusion to a Major Character

Please be aware that this article contains spoilers from the Jujutsu Kaisen Modulo manga! While Modulo introduces new characters, it also reveals what happened to some favorites from the original story. Set 68 years after the Culling Game, Modulo shows the Jujutsu world trying to build a brighter future. Although curses still pose a threat, peace had been maintained until the arrival of 50,000 Simurians – an alien race with powers similar to Jujutsu sorcerers. This new arrival sparked fears of war, as humans are clearly outmatched. The Simurians are considered as dangerous as Ryomen Sukuna, highlighting just how serious the threat is.

The story picks up with updates on key characters from the original series, including the heartbreaking outcome for Yuji Itadori. The manga also gives Aoi Todo a proper and satisfying ending after largely leaving him out of the main plot.

Jujutsu Kaisen Modulo Reveals What Aoi Todo Is Up To

The last volume of the manga came out in Japan on May 1st, 2026, and fans are waiting to find out when it will be available in English. Even though it’s not yet available worldwide, a popular Jujutsu Kaisen fan account on X (formerly Twitter), @Go_Jover, has shared images from the volume, including extra panels. According to the account, Todo is still alive and traveling with his wife. The volume also shows Todo as an older man and briefly features his wife, though her face is hidden. She has the same pigtail hairstyle as Noboku Takada, who Todo admires.

The recent continuation of the story mainly focused on a character’s situation, but the latest installment reveals more about what’s to come for them. Before its release, there was excitement about an additional chapter focusing on a character left out of the main story. Many fans guessed it would be Megumi Fushiguro, but the author, Gege Akutami, had a different character in mind. That character is Todo, a popular figure who has fought alongside Yuji Itadori against several strong opponents.

Todo wasn’t just Yuji’s teacher, sharing skills like Black Flash – he’s also been a true friend. Years ago, they both mentored a new group of Jujutsu sorcerers, including Chiharu Miyagumi, who became a powerful sorcerer and is now helping in the fight against the Simurians.
