Met Gala 2026 Fashion: See Every Celebrity Look (Live Updates)

Prepare to see some real works of art strutting up the steps of the Metropolitan Museum of Art.

Stylist Law Roach predicts the 2026 Met Gala, themed “Costume Art,” and its accompanying exhibit will showcase a diverse collection of stunning designs on May 4th.

As a stylist, one of my favorite things is seeing how people bring a theme to life through their personal style. At the recent Fashion Scholarship Fund Gala, I was chatting with the team and we all agreed – this year’s theme, ‘Fashion Is Art,’ was wonderfully open to interpretation. It really allowed everyone to express their creativity!

I’m so excited! Apparently, he’s really hoping at least one of the guests – and the list is incredible with people like Rihanna, Teyana Taylor, Sabrina Carpenter, and Doja Cat – will take the theme very seriously. Plus, the event co-chairs are huge names too – Beyoncé, Nicole Kidman, Venus Williams, and, of course, Anna Wintour! I can’t wait to see what everyone wears.

Roach guessed that someone might come dressed as the Mona Lisa, and he wouldn’t be surprised if they did.

After all, the goal of the yearly first-Monday-in-May charity event is to be iconic.

It’s incredibly stressful, and all that work culminates in just a few minutes on the competition floor,” Roach explained. “Months of dedication are rewarded with a five-minute performance, and then it’s over.”

Remember the team that measured the museum’s front doors last year? They were making sure André 3000 and the baby grand piano he planned to carry on his back would actually fit inside.

This year’s Met Gala theme, “Fashion Is Art,” offers plenty of creative freedom for those who love fashion.

The Costume Institute’s upcoming exhibition, featuring almost 400 items and housed in the Met’s new Condé M. Nast Galleries, will explore how clothing and the body are connected. As curator Andrew Bolton told Vogue, the goal is to refocus conversations about art and fashion on the human form, celebrating rather than concealing the body – ultimately elevating fashion to the level of art.

And the looks stars crafted were certainly stunning. Hang all of these in a museum.
