After being showcased at EVO Japan this weekend, Arc System Works announced that Marvel Tokon: Fighting Souls is nearing completion and in the final stages of development.
The team will also include the Incredible Hulk and Shuri as the new Black Panther, joining Captain America and Iron Man to complete the lineup of the Fighting Avengers.
The game currently features 14 playable characters, and six more are yet to be announced. Many fans think a recent trailer sneak peek suggests Carnage will be added to the roster, potentially alongside Doctor Doom, as part of a team of villains.
Sony has consistently updated this fighting game and showcased new versions at tournaments globally. They’ve confirmed a new build, including the Black Panther character and Wakanda stage, will be available to play at Combo Breaker in Chicago this month.
Now that the game is scheduled to launch on August 8th, we’re just three months away! The development team is likely finishing up the final touches – balancing gameplay and polishing the experience.
It’s going to be interesting to see which venues Sony chooses for the final few character reveals.
