See BLACKPINK Reunite in Rule-Breaking Met Gala 2026 Bathroom Selfie

How you like that Met Gala 2026 reunion?

Even amidst the excitement of the Met Gala on May 4th, the members of BLACKPINK paused to take a fun, group selfie in a bathroom mirror at the Metropolitan Museum of Art.

Bhavita Mandava took the photo, capturing a sweet moment between LISA and Jisoo, who were cheek-to-cheek. LISA playfully puckered her lips, and Jisoo responded with a big smile. Rosé posed with a subtle smile for the camera, and Jennie joined in with a puckered face alongside Gracie Abrams and Rachel Sennott.

The room was packed, with Ayo Edebiri and Margot Robbie posing with Bhavita. These celebrities perfectly captured the night’s “Fashion Is Art” theme, and while they were the main focus, Audrey Nuna, star of K-Pop Demon Hunters, stood out with a striking black-and-white hat by Robert Wun. EJAE’s peace sign was also visible in the background. (You can see photos of all the stars at the Met Gala here.)

“Felt cute,” Bhavita captioned the pic, “might delete later.”

Okay, everyone lost it over the photos, but honestly? Showing what happens after the Met Gala, beyond those iconic steps? That’s been a total no-no since Anna Wintour, when she was still at Vogue, basically said ‘don’t you dare show us anything else’ back in 2015. It’s like, the co-chairs – Beyoncé, Nicole Kidman, Venus Williams, and Anna herself – are untouchable, but everyone else better keep it to the red carpet! It’s a rule, and it’s been strictly enforced ever since.

Why does the fashion magazine’s long-time editor-in-chief, who’s been in charge of the gala for over three decades, prefer no phones are allowed at the event?

As Met Gala co-organizer Sylvana Durrett shared in the 2016 documentary The First Monday in May, Anna Wintour prefers more classic forms of entertainment. “She enjoys dinner parties where guests actually converse with one another,” Durrett explained.

We’re not actively monitoring what people are doing, but if they make a clear mistake, we might politely point it out.

Despite the rules, celebrities still managed to take photos at last year’s Met Gala. Megan Thee Stallion snapped selfies with stars like Angel Reese, Doechii, Serena Williams, and Ciara. The rapper jokingly referred to the photos as being taken with her “Hottie Cam” and told Tracee Ellis Ross, “We’re not supposed to have our phones!”
