While Virgil van Dijk hasn’t been at his best for Liverpool this season, he seems to be having a great time when he’s not playing.
People have recently spotted the Dutch defender with a bright orange PS Vita, and he’s been playing the game Grand Theft Auto: Vice City Stories on it.
The console is colored to match the orange of the Netherlands national team’s kit, as they are commonly known as ‘Oranje’.
It’s surprising and fun to see a famous athlete playing on older Sony handhelds. You’d think most professional soccer players would prefer devices like the Steam Deck or the new Nintendo Switch these days.
Similar to how David James’s PlayStation habit seemed to coincide with struggles during his time at Liverpool, we’re predicting Virgil van Dijk’s fondness for the PS Vita will contribute to more disappointing performances as Liverpool completes what’s shaping up to be one of the worst Premier League title defenses ever.
