In the final episode of Season 2 titled “Extremely Dangerous,” the cursed house storyline reaches its climax with a thrilling confrontation between the malevolent Evil Eye yokai and our heroes. This action-packed installment is packed with unpredictable turns that leave viewers on tenterhooks. As Momo struggles to contain a volcanic menace, the villainous Evil Eye persists in his wicked schemes, targeting Momo for elimination. Fans were anticipating Okarun’s reappearance to battle the antagonist, but instead, Mr. Mantis Shrimp makes an unexpected entrance, catching everyone off guard. However, he isn’t acting alone; Granny Seiko and Taro, the anatomical model, also show up, humorously descending from a spaceship.
In the play, it was suggested that Granny Seiko and Mantis Shrimp would play vital roles in defeating the Evil Eye. However, the Evil Eye demonstrated unprecedented power, forcing even Granny Seiko to struggle mightily as she swung her baseball bat at him repeatedly. At this juncture, on Granny Seiko’s signal, Taro darted comically towards the Evil Eye, with the William Tell Overture playing in the background. People assumed his approach would only provide humor; instead, he proved to be the unforeseen hero. He managed to capture the Evil Eye within the anatomical body using the Spirit Trapping Seals.
Dandadan‘s Pivotal Moment in the Latest Arc Proves Every Character Matters
In the decisive showdown against the Evil Eye towards the end of the storyline, it seemed Momo and Okarun would be fighting him on their own. Yet, at a crucial juncture, various characters appeared, including those Momo and Okarun had met and assisted during their journey. This indicates that in this series, no character is ever really left behind, regardless if they’re supernatural beings like yokai or extraterrestrials. The pivotal scene underscores that even though Momo and Okarun are the primary characters, the soul of Dandadan lies equally within its supporting cast, whose lives have been influenced by the main duo, and who rally when it’s most important.
In contrast to Taro’s limited screen time in the previous season, viewers didn’t anticipate his significant involvement in the series anymore. However, during the latest conflict, it was Taro who unexpectedly emerged as the hero among all the strong characters, thanks to his unique talent. This highlights how creator Yukinobu Tatsu has skillfully developed even minor characters like Taro in Dandadan, endowing them with the capability to influence the storyline and reappear as crucial figures in Momo and Okarun’s peculiar mission to retrieve Okarun’s lost body parts.
