Game of the Month: Pragmata (April 2026)

As of Saturday, May 9th, 2026, at 6 PM, Capcom has once again won Game of the Month. Despite strong competition in April, they continue to impress!

Resident Evil Requiem didn’t win our Game of the Month in February, and Monster Hunter Stories 3 was just a nominee in March – Capcom really followed those up quickly with another fantastic game, Pragmata.

Our pick for PlayStation 5 Game of the Month for April 2026 is the exciting science fiction action game! It’s officially our winner.

Over 1,200 votes were cast by readers of Push Square across a selection of ten high quality titles.

Here are the top five releases of April, as decided by our audience:

  1. Pragmata – 581 votes (47%)
  2. Saros – 360 votes (29%)
  3. Starfield – 103 votes (8%)
  4. Hades 2 – 62 votes (5%)
  5. MOUSE: P.I. for Hire – 44 votes (4%)

Pragmata won a recent award, beating out two other science fiction games – including one made by PlayStation themselves! It’s pretty unusual for a PlayStation 5 exclusive to lose in a vote like this.

I have to say, Pragmata is getting all the love it deserves! The reviews have been amazing, and it seems like everyone’s really enjoying it – it’s already sold over two million copies in just a few weeks, which is incredible!

In our Pragmata PS5 review, we said the game excels in what it does best, creating a truly fantastic and engaging action experience.

Congratulations again, Capcom! We’re hoping Diana has a celebratory dance ready to go.

April went by quickly! While it felt like the biggest releases, like the new Sony game Saros, were at the very end of the month, looking back, it was actually a really good month for new games overall.

Besides the thrilling and atmospheric action game from Housemarque, Pragmata was a major highlight, receiving positive feedback from both critics and gamers.

Capcom is continuing its success with yet another popular new game, proving they consistently deliver hits.

Following the sci-fi trend, April brought the release of Starfield on PS5, after a long period of speculation and leaks. While Bethesda’s expansive RPG has a dedicated fanbase, it’s unlikely to be a strong contender for our Game of the Month award given the other great games available.

This month also featured some standout titles like the visually appealing MOUSE: P.I. for Hire, the incredibly engaging Vampire Crawlers, and the elegantly designed People of Note.

Fans of collectible games had a new obsession with the release of NTE: Neverness to Everness, a remarkably large and ambitious title.

With the release of Invincible VS, even fans of fighting games found something to enjoy. It really does seem like there’s something for everyone!

And let’s not forget, Hades 2 also came to PlayStation 5 last month! It’s been a really great few months for the PS5.

It’s time to vote for your Game of the Month! But first, let’s take a quick look back at all the games that have won so far this year…

  • January 2026: Trails beyond the Horizon
  • February 2026: Resident Evil Requiem
